Lord god almighty, we need you right now, blessed us
in our study. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

A.2 Greetings Good morning Sir. Good morning visitors!

Good morning class!

A.3 Classroom Conditioning

Before you take your seat, please pick up the (The students will check the cleanliness and
pieces of papers and wrappers on the floor and orderliness of the room.)
kindly arrange your chair”
Please sit down! Thank you Sir!

A.4 Checking of attendance

Who are the absent for today? None Sir!

Checking of Assignment
Last meeting I asked you to look for the definition
of words.
Let us check your assignment.

Kindly exchange your notebook with your

seatmate.

Give 5 points for every item. (The students will check the assignment of their
seatmate)

B. Recall
Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity

Let’s have a short recall about the topic last

meeting.

If everything is made of matter, what is matter

made up of?

Yes, Aileen! Please stand up. Matter is made up of tiny particles.

Excellent!

What do you call the smallest unit of a matter?

Yes Yul! The smallest unit of a matter is an atom.

Very good!
Atom is the basic unit of a matter.

If you will combine two or more atoms together in

specific arrangement, what will you produce? I will produce a molecule.

Excellent! So again what is molecule? A molecule is a particle consisting of two or more

atoms combined together in specific arrangement.

Very good class, it seems that you learned a lot in

our last discussion and for that give yourself a
“Hooray” clap. 123... 123... Hooray!

C. Motivation
Teacher‘s Activity Students’ Activity
Before we proceed to our activity for today, let’s
have a short game entitled “What’s in the box
challenge”. I have here a box, Iwill put mystery
object inside the box and try to guess what is in the
box looking to it.

Class is it clear? Yes Sir!

I need volunteer for this game.
Yes, please go to the front. What is in the box? Tomato
Class, is he correct? Yes Sir!
(The teacher will reveal what is inside the box to
the students)

Another volunteer!
Ken, what is inside your box? Sir I think it is balloon
Let us know if you are correct... Please get it and (The student will reveal what is inside the box)
show it to your classmates.

Very good! You are correct.

Another volunteer!
How about you, can you tell us what is inside the This is a lighter.
box?
Let us check if you are correct, can you show us
what is inside the box?

Very good!

Class, what do tomato, lighter and balloon have in Those are all example matter.
common?

Very good! They are all example of matter

This is the possible answers of the students:
Can you give another example of matter around  Pencil
you?  Ballpen
 Paper
 Water
 Air
 Bag
 chair

Did you know that matters around you exist in

different states? Do you have an idea what are the Solid, liquid, gas and plasma.
sates of matter?

Excellent! Solid, liquid, gas and plasma.

Our topic for today is the particle model of three
states of matter.
D. Procedure
Teacher’s activity Students’ activity
D.1 Pre- Activity
Class, I have here a jar wih ice. Can you predict
what will happen to the ices and the outside the
jar?
Please raise your hand if you have an idea.
Yes, please stand.
The ice inside the jar will melt.

Very Good!
The ices inside the jar will melt. The circles represent the particles
Sir its represents the gas particles.
How about outside the jar, what will happen in
it’s surface? The surface outside the jar will become wet.

Very good!
Water droplets will form outside the jar.

Take a look in this concept cartoon.Which do you

think is the best answer and why?
Girl number 1 is correct because in the air there is a
water and those water is condensed once it cooled by
the surface og the jar.
Good Idea!
How about the other!
Yes, please stand!
Girl number nuber 2 because there are holes in the jar
that we cannot see so that the water can passed in it.
Good idea!
The correct answer among the three girls is girl
number 3. The water molecules condensed
because the temperature of the air is higher than
the temperature surface outside the jar.

Now, we can move on to our activity for today.

Today’s activity will deepen your understanding

about three states of matter.

Kindly get your activity sheet and we will discuss

the procedures.
The students get their activity sheet.

D.3. Activity
Since you already know what to do, you may now (The students will do the actiivity)
start doing your activity

D.3. Post activity

Since you are all done
Let us check and discuss your answer in guide
questions in your activity.

Kindly exchange your paper with other groups. (The students will comply)

In question number 1, In the diagrams what

represents a solid, liquid or gas?
The people at the bench around the football field
Group number 1, what is your answer? represents the liquid, the players in the field represents
the gas and the people in the entrance represents the
solid.

(Group 2,3,4 and 5 will answer next to group 1)

Excellent!

Look at this particle model of Solid, liquid and gas.

what did you notice in the model of solid, liquid and
gas particles? The particles of solid are closed together, the particles
of liquid are loosely arrange and the particles of gas are
Very Good! far away from each other.
The particles of solid are closedly packed to each
other. In liquid, they are loosely arrange but still
close together. And in gas, The particles are not
arranged in any particular way.
Explain what the two diagrams are trying to demonstrate
Group 2 please read and answer qustion number about solids, liquids and gases.
In diagram 2a, it demontrates that theparticles of gas are
2.a.
freely to move.

Excellent!

In diagram 2a, when the bus openned the guy

came out. It demonstrate that the gas can freely to
move in any directions.
In diagram 2b, it demonstrates the arrangement of particles
How about in diagram 2b, what does the diagram in solid, liquid and gas.
being shown?

Very good!

You noticed in the diagram, gas can freely move

in any direction. The solid particles do not move
but vibrate o in their fixed position.

Next question, explain what is happening as you The air take the shape of the balloon. And oval shape
blow up the balloon. was formed.

Gas can freely to move inside the balloon and take the
shape of the balloon.
What are the three syringes trying to demonstrate?
Qustion number 4, please read and answer. The three syringe represents the compresibility of three
states of matter.

Very good!
Syringe number 3 represents gas particles.
Among the three syringes, which do you think
represents gas particles?

Very good!

Gas is the most compressible among the tree states of

matter because there are larger spaces between the
particles compares to solid and liquid.

The the black solids are scattered.

Question number 5, what happens to the black solid in
the second diagram?

What do you think the diagram represents? Its repressent mellting or vaporazation.
Very good!

It represents melting such as ice in the water.

.
There are forces of attraction between the particles of
matter.

What do you think will happen to the particles when

heated based on the diagram? The particles move away from each other.
Very good!

The forces of attraction between the particles weaken

when heated so the bond between them breaks and the
particles scattered.

E. Generalization
Teacher’s activity Students’ activity
To summarize what have you learned in our
discussion, there are three particles model of
states of matter. The three particle model of matter are solid, liquid and
What are those? gas.

What are the difference of three states of matter? Based on the arrangement of particles, solid is closedly
packed toeach other and liquid is loosely bonded and in
gas,the distance thespaces between the particles are
larger than liquid.
Nice idea!
How about the movement of particles? The particles of solid do not move but vibrate, and
liquid move around and slide to each other and gas
particles are freely to move in any direction.
Very Good!
In general, the three states of matter differ
because of the arrangement and motion of the
particles in each state.

F. Valuing/Application
Teacher’s activity Students’ activity
As we mention in our discussion, the spaces
between the particles in each states of matter is
differ from each other so that the bonds between
them are also differ, can you relate the bonding
between the particles of three states of matter in
the family bonding? The family that is very close to each other are strongly
bonded compare to those families that their family
members are separated to each other.

Very good!

Another hand? The bond between me and my cousin who live near in
our house is stronger than the bonds to my other cousin
who live far away in our house.
Very good!

G. Evaluation
Teacher’s activity Students’ activity
Quiz (1-11)

Test I: True or false (1 point each)

Direction: Write TRUE if the statement is correct
and write FALSE if the statement is incorrect.

1. The particles in solids are strongly bonded

to each other.
2. The particles in a gas are closely packed
together.
3. Liquid takes the shape of its container
because the particles can move around
more freely than solid.
4. The particles of a solid vibrate at a fixed
position.
5. Gases are virtually impossible to
compress.

Test II: Illustration

Illustration (2 point each)

Illustrate the proper arrangement of particles of

three states of matter.

(The students will create a illustration of the particles

of three states of matter.
Lets us check your answers. Kindly exchange (The students will comply)
your paper with your seatmate and write
corrected by.

H. Assignment
Teacher’s activity Students’ activity
1. Define the following:
a. Condensation
b. Evaporation
