CURRICULUM IMPLEMENTATION & MODELS

What is implementation?  Using the plan as a guide to engage with the learners in
the teaching learning process with the end in view that
learning has occurred and learning outcomes have been
achieve.
What is curriculum  It is putting into practice the written curriculum that has
implementation? been design in syllabi, course of study, curricular guides
and subjects.
 A process wherein the learners acquire the planned or
intended knowledge, skills, attitude that are aimed at
enabling the same learners functions effectively in the
society.
What is Substitution?  The current curriculum will be replaced or substituted
by a new one, sometimes call this a complete overhaul.
What is Alteration?  There is a minor change to the current or existing
curriculum
What is Restructuring?  It is building new structure would mean major change or
modification in the school system, degree program or
educational system.
What is Perturbation?  These are changes that are disruptive, but teachers have
to adjust to them within a fairly short time.
What is Value Orientation?  This is a type of curriculum change. Perhaps this
classification will respond to shift in the emphasis that
the teacher provides which are not within the mission or
vision of the school or vice versa.
What is Developmental?  Should develop multi perspective and make learning
autonomous. There should be teacher support in trying
new task, reflection and the new experiences and
challenge.
What is Participatory?  It is for curriculum implementation to succeed, because
the other stake holder like peers, school leader, parents
and curriculum specialist necessary.
What is Supportive?  Curriculum implementation required in the process of
change. Material support like supplies, equipment,
conductive learning environment like classroom,
laboratory should made available.

CURRICULUM EVALUATION

What is Evaluation?  It is the process of collecting data on a program to


determine its value or worth with the aim of deciding to
adopt, reject, or revise the programmed
What is Curriculum Evaluation?  It is concerned with assessing the value of the program
of study, course of study and field of study.
 The formal determination of quality, effectiveness. Or
value of the programmed, product. Project, process,
objective or curriculum.
 Process or cluster of processes that people perform
order to gather data that will enable them to decide
whether to accept, change, or eliminate something the
curriculum in general or educational textbook in
particular (Ornstein and Hunkins, 1998)
Why need of Curriculum  To provide conceptual framework for specific purpose of
Evaluation? the evaluation.
 Models are useful because they help us define the
parameters of an evaluation, what concepts to study and
the procedures to be used to extract important data.
What are the plans for  The basis for Evaluation

 Evaluation Report
 Evaluation Design
What is Stating Objectives?  Emphasize the importance of studying the child to find
out what kind of interest he has, what problems he
encounters, what purposes he has in mind.

What are the 3 sets of data?  Antecedents –conditions existing before implementation.
 Transactions - activities during implementation.
 Outcomes –results after implementation.
What are the 2 roles of  Formative evaluation- it is the development during the
curriculum implementation programmed
according to Sciven?  Summative Evaluation – it is the conclusion.
