1 Main rules
Overhead transmission lines and its parts shall be viewed in the line direction. Always
from lower to higher tower number.
Numbering of stays, foundation, tower legs, main member and insulator sets are based
on the bisector line on the left and numbered sequentially clockwise.
When multiple lines are built together in the same tower, crossarms and conductors
are designated for the line it belongs to.
5/20
2 Tower leg
Tower leg who consist of more than one leg is numbered sequentially clockwise start-
ing from the bisector line.
6/20
3 Foundation and main member
Foundations and main members is designated in the same way as tower legs.
V=Left
M=Middle
H=Right
Foundations for tower leg with more than one foundation is numbered sequentially
clockwise starting from the bisector line.
7/20
4 Stay
For stay between tower legs the stay belongs to the leg which the upper end is attached
to.
8/20
5 Stay anchor termination
Stay anchor termination is designated as stays with the completion that for stay anchor
termination at upper end of stays Ö is written after the code.
Ö=Upper (Övre)
Ex. VT1Ö
6 Stay anchor
Stay anchor is designated as stays with the completion that for stay with common anchor
for two or more stays all legs and functions are indicated.

7 Crossarm
10/20
7.2 Phase crossarm
Phase crossarm is designated from left to right per transmission line.
8 Conductor
11/20
8.2 Phase
Phase is designated from left to right per transmission line.
12/20
8.3 Phase conductor
Phase conductor included in duplex, triplex or quadrupel configuration is designated
with phase conductor No followed by conductor designation.
Ex. 2c
At angle towers shall one imagine that the insulator set is hanging free unloaded.
Example:
9 Vibration damper
13/20
10 Spacer
Spacer is designated with the number for the tower after the spacer followed by in line
direction. Phase, group, spacer.
14/20
11 Conductor joint
Conductor joint is designated with the number for the tower after the joint followed by
phase, conductor, No
When it is only one joint in the span the joint No does not need to be mentioned.
15/20
12 Insulator set
F=Before (Före)
E=After (Efter)
16/20
12.3 Transposition set
Transposition set is designated as Tension set.
17/20
12.4 Insulator string
Suspension string
Insulator string in suspension set is designated clockwise starting from the bisector
line.
18/20
Tension and transposition string
Insulator string in tension and transposition set is designated clockwise starting from a
imagined horizontal line seen through center of the set in the line direction.
19/20
12.5 Insulator element
Insulator element is designated starting from the tower.
