II. TWO OPTION ANALYSIS. Write I’M READY if the occurrences/ event portrays/qualifies as
a disaster, otherwise write NA if it is not applicable. Write your answer before the number.

1. A collision of four vehicles happened along EDSA. Ten people died in


the accident.
2. Due to extreme weather conditions. 90% of economic activities in
Benguet were suspended indefinitely.
3. In Barangay Ubbog, Awan Danum, several households in the locality
were heavily affected by a strong typhoon.
4. Mylene was murdered by two of her highschool friends, Jhonard and
Rodalyn at the comfort room.
5. After the magnitude 7.2 earthquake, a total of 3,467 people died and 10
billion pesos worth of damages to public and private properties was repoted.
6. 15 students of Pu School who were on their way to a camping activity
were killed along a highway in Pakyut, Ka Launay last February 14, 2019.
7. A trainee doctor, Clyde Pagao, died of a heart attack after over-exerting
himself while producing a sample of sperm.
8. Hundreds of residents left their homes and stayed at evacuation centers
for almost three months beacuse of super typhoon Chareng.
9. On January 5, 2019, mount Mayon killed 5 climbers namely Gerald,
Mharlou, Aaron, Denver, and Ryan near the summit of Mount Mayon, who had ignored warnings
of potential eruption.
10. 2 students from University of Na Kipot died after drinking lambanog in
the village of Gacs last Saturday.
III. ESSAY. Answer the following questions brieftly but substantially. (40 points)

1. Choose one example of hazards ( ex. flooding, earhquake, environmental degradation, etc.).
Explain your standpoint and analysis if it is preventable or not. Explain why it is preventable and
how it can be prevented. (15 points)

2. Explain why Philippines is more vulnerable to disasters than other countries. (10 points)

3. Supposedly, you are given a super power to stop an upcoming super typhoon that could possibly
wipe out the majority of regions in the Philippines but with one condition. Your family will be the
only casualty of the super typhoon. Will you grab the “super power” opportunity to save millions
of lives or let your family live? Why? (15 points)
