Magnetic Flux Leakage at Damage
Typically magnetic-based conveyor monitoring systems depend on the
magnetization of the reinforcing steel cords by passing the steel
cords over a magnet mounted on the system

Summary of Damage Monitoring
 Real-Time analysis of the scan data against a stored map of the
conveyor belt allows for the system to detect new cord damage.

 Alarms based on “User-Defined” and “Critical Event” thresholds allows

the end user to be alerted of critical damage events

 Damage Thresholds are based on the number of cord breaks in a

given region of the belt

 Once a threshold is exceeded, the system trips one of two relays

depending on the level of the damage.

 E-mail Alerts settings are available for e-mail alerts to be sent upon
alarm generation (via Ethernet connection)

Cord Guard XD Belt Monitoring
There are two basic forms of catastrophic conveyor belt failure:
 Transverse Tear
 Longitudinal Rip
