The ideal environment


for kids learning Á

A crucial factor for kid’s language learning has to do with safe and pleasant
atmosphere due to it impacts on the affective filter during acquisition/learning
process (Krashen, 1982, pp. 30–32).

1. Safety atmosphere
“Child safe environments are safe and friendly settings where children feel respected,
valued and encouraged to reach their full potential” (Legedza, 2016, Webpage)

A pleasant environment impacts on how children feel at classroom. The

3. Why it is important?

A safe and pleasant atmosphere contributes better outcomes in 2L learning

MOTIVATION
“Performers with high motivation generally do better in
second language acquisition” (Krashen, 1982, p. 31).

SELF-CONFIDENCE
“Performers with self-confidence and a good self-image tend to
do better in second language acquisition.Close any programs
not needed for the interview” (Krashen, 1982, p. 31).

ANXIETY
“Low anxiety appears to be conducive to second
language acquisition, whether measured as personal or
classroom anxiety” (Krashen, 1982, p. 31).
