RIGGING & SLINGING


1. Why Needed?
 To prevent any incident involving rigging & slinging activity.
 Certified slings & Safe Rigging Practices are essential for safe loading & unloading.
 Most of serious incidents that have occurred in our plants involve Rigging & Slinging Activity.

2. Hazards during Rigging & Slinging?

6. Use, Inspect & Maintain


 Do not heat treat or modify slings in house.
 Hands and Fingers shall not be placed between the sling and the load while the sling is being tightened around the load
 Clean chains regularly as dirt and grit can cause excessive wear at the link bearing points
 Never shorten a sling with knots, bolts or other makeshift devices.
 Always inspect slings before use.
 Store slings properly when not in use to avoid any damage.
