SERIE KC
Condensadores por aire con ventiladores centrífugos para instala-
ción en la sala de compresores y con posibilidad de conexión de
conductos para llevar la salida del aire al exterior.
Se fabrican en dos series según la velocidad del ventilador incorpo-
rado: KCN (normales) y KCS (silenciosos). Constructiva y dimensio-
nalmente ambas series son idénticas pero los KCS llevan ventilado-
res de menor velocidad, consumo y nivel sonoro.
La batería de intercambio está fabricada con tubo de cobre y aletas
de aluminio onduladas de alto rendimiento. La carcasa exterior es de
chapa galvanizada con diseño de gran robustez y resistencia, con
amplios paneles desmontables que permiten un cómodo acceso al
interior para las operaciones de mantenimiento.
Este Manual es válido para la versión básica y para los condensado-
res con alguna o varias de las siguientes opciones:
- Diferentes posiciones de la batería y de la salida del aire de los
ventiladores.
- Multicircuitos para servicio a varios compresores
- Diferentes tratamientos anticorrosión
- Ventiladores conectados a caja exterior centralizada.
- Diferentes materiales como aletas de cobre, tubos zincados,
carcasa en chapa blanca etc.
- Insonorización acústica interior mediante planchas de espuma.
Para condensadores que incorporen opciones o características dife-
rentes de las anteriores como ventiladores especiales, tubos de
acero inoxidable u otras, algunas partes de este Manual pueden no
ser aplicables para la unidad en concreto.
En el presente Manual se explican todos los pasos necesarios para
el desembalaje, colocación e instalación del condensador en el lugar
de trabajo y se describen las principales operaciones de manteni-
miento y limpieza.
Es necesario que el instalador siga los pasos descritos así como toda
la serie de recomendaciones y advertencias que se dan con el fin de
asegurar un óptimo funcionamiento del condensador dentro de la
instalación de frío.
TRANSPORTE
En las últimas páginas del presente Manual se proporcionan los
datos de las dimensiones y pesos de todos los modelos de catálogo
en su versión básica. El instalador debe tener en cuenta estos datos
para asegurarse de que la elevación y colocación de la unidad se
hacen con los medios materiales adecuados.
Modelos pequeños (con ventiladores de tracción directa)
Los condensadores de la gama KC de pequeño y mediano tamaño
se entregan anclados sobre un palet de madera.
1 Utilizar el palet como sistema general de apoyo para el despla-
zamiento o elevación de la unidad mediante toro o traspaleta.
2 En caso necesario, También se puede elevar sujetando el con-
densador de la carcasa mediante eslingas introducidas por la
parte inferior.

SERIE KC
Air cooled condensers with centrifugal fans to be installed in the
compressors room and with the possibility of connecting conducts to
carry the air towards the outside.
Two series are built according to the centrifugal fan speed: KCN
(Normal) and KCS (Silent). Both series have the same construction
and dimensions but KCS incorporate fans with a lower speed, con-
sumption and sound level.
The heat-exchanging coil is built with copper tube and corrugated
aluminium fins specially designed for condensing units. The external
casing is made of galvanised steel with a design of great strength and
resistance, with ample lateral panels easily removable that allow a
direct access to the inside for cleaning and maintenance operation.
This Manual is valid for the basic version and for condensers with one
or several of the following options:
- Different positions of the coil (vertical or horizontal) and of the air
outlet.
- Multi-circuits to serve various compressors
- Different anti-corrosion treatments
- Fan motors wired to an external box
- Different materials as copper fins, zinced tubes, white coated
casing etc.
- Inner acoustic insulation by means of foam sheets
For condensers with options or characteristics different from the
above such as special fan motors, stainless steel tubes or others,
some parts of this Manual may not apply to the actual unit.
This Manual explains all the necessary steps for the unpacking, pla-
cing and installation of the condenser in its operating position and
describes the main procedures form maintenance and cleaning.
It is necessary for the installer to follow the stated steps as well as all
the advice and recommendations given in order to ensure an optimal
operation of the condenser within the cold installation.
TRANSPORTATION
At the end of this Manual a sheet is provided with the dimensions and
weight of all the catalogued models in their basic version. The insta-
ller must take into account these data to ensure that the lifting and
placing of the unit is carried out using the appropriate means.
Small units (with direct driven fan motors)
The KC condensers of small and medium size are delivered ancho-
red over a wooden pallet.
1 Use the pallet always that it is possible as support for the move-
ment or lifting of the unit by means of a forklift.
2 When necessary, the condenser can also be lifted introducing
slings under the body of the unit as shown on the drawing.
Modelos grandes (con ventiladores movidos por correas)
Los modelos de gran tamaño se entregan anclados sobre dos pati-
nes de madera e incorporan argollas de sujeción por la parte supe-
rior para su desplazamiento mediante grúa.
3 Utilizar todas las argollas disponibles para la elevación de la unidad.
4 Utilizar cinchas o eslingas suplementarias como elemento de
seguridad por si se desprendiera alguna argolla o fallara una
cadena de sujeción.
! ¡PRECAUCION!
Cuando se utilice una grúa para la elevación del condensador, ase-
gurarse de que la zona que quede por debajo del radio de acción de
la grúa esté libre de personas durante todo el proceso de trabajo de
la misma.
5 En todos los casos, la distancia del gancho de sujeción hasta el
condensador debe ser al menos 1,5 veces la longitud D.
EMPLAZAMIENTO
! ¡PRECAUCION!
No utilizar nunca los colectores como apoyo para desplazamientos
del condensador. ¡El colector no soporta el peso del aparato y puede
doblarse quedando los tubos que entroncan con la batería dañados
sin posible reparación y la batería inservible!
1 Anclar el condensador al suelo o sobre una estructura rígida
2 La sala donde se coloque el aparato debe estar bien acondicio-
nada, con buena circulación del aire que permita que en verano
no se alcancen temperaturas excesivas y que el condensador
aspire el aire sin dificultades. Se aconseja mantener las distancias
mínimas a las paredes indicadas en los dibujos adjuntos.
Large units (with belt driven fans)
The large units are delivered anchored to a pair of wooden skids and
incorporate eyebolts at the top of the unit body for lifting and trans-
porting by crane.
3 Use all the available eyebolts for lifting the unit.
4 Place some additional slings under the condenser body as a
security element in case some eyebolt or supporting chain would
fail.
! WARNING!
Whenever a crane is used for lifting the condenser to a terrace roof or
an elevated place, make sure that there are no people in the area
under the crane operational range during the entire process of lifting
and placing the unit.
5 The length of the chains must allow the elevation hook to stand at
a distance over the condenser of at least 1.5 times its length D.
POSITIONING
! WARNING!
Never use the headers as handles for movement or transportation of
the condenser. The header can not withstand the weight of the unit
and may bend damaging, beyond repair, the tubes that connect the
header to the coil and leave the coil unusable!
1 Secure the condenser to the floor or over a rigid structure.
2 The room where the unit will be placed must be properly condi-
tioned with a good air circulation and renewal to prevent reaching
high temperatures and allow the condenser to suck up the air
without problems. It is advisable to keep the minimum distances
to walls as shown in the attached drawings.

 CONEXIONES FRIGORÍFICAS
¡IMPORTANTE!
El condensador se suministra sellado y con aire seco a presión en el
interior de la batería. El instalador puede así comprobar que el apara-
to le llega en perfectas condiciones de estanqueidad. En el caso de
que no hubiera aire en el interior, ¡NO CONTINUAR CON LA
INSTALACIÓN! y ponerse en contacto con el Servicio Técnico de FRI-
METAL.
El colector de mayor diámetro es el de entrada del refrigerante y el de
menor diámetro el de salida. Si el condensador es multicircuito con
servicio a varios compresores, cada circuito se entrega sellado y con
presión interior independientemente. En estos casos, las operaciones
que se describen a continuación hay que realizarlas para todos los cir-
cuitos.
1 Quitar el tapón y el obús de la válvula situada en uno de los colec-
tores para sacar todo el aire del interior. Volverlos a colocar poste-
riormente.
2 Cortar el extremo de ambos colectores con un cortatubos.
3 Colocar un trapo húmedo en el tubo de conexión entre en la zona
donde se va a realizar la soldadura y la batería, para evitar la trans-
misión del calor hacia la misma.
4 Utilizar soldadura autógena de propano y oxígeno con varilla de
aportación de cobre fósforo y plata.
Los colectores y las soldaduras de cobre son las partes más delicadas
del condensador. Para evitar que como consecuencia de una inco-
rrecta realización de las conexiones la batería resulte dañada, con el
peligro de que se produzcan fugas del refrigerante, es absolutamente
necesario tener en cuenta las siguientes recomendaciones:
! ¡PRECAUCION!
- En todo el proceso de realización de las conexiones, no forzar los
colectores obligándolos a un desplazamiento de su posición original
que pueda forzar los tubos y provocar fugas o deterioros en las sol-
daduras.
- No aportar excesivo calor al soldar y no dirigir la llama del soplete
hacia el condensador para no dañar o debilitar las soldaduras exis-
tentes en esa zona, provocándose la aparición de fugas inmediatas
o futuras.
- Para que las vibraciones del compresor no se transmitan al conden-
sador, es necesario colocar un antivibrador en el tubo que llega del
compresor a la entrada del condensador.
- Evitar a toda costa la presencia de humedad en el interior de las
tuberías, la cual es perniciosa para todos los elementos de la insta-
lación de frío. Hay que utilizar filtros secadores para eliminarla total-
mente.

REFRIGERANT CONNECTIONS
IMPORTANT!
The condenser is supplied with its circuit sealed and with pressured dry
air inside the coil. In this way the installer may be sure that the con-
denser reaches the client in perfect condition and leak free. In case
there were no air inside, DO NOT CONTINUE WITH THE INSTALLA-
TION! and get in contact with the Technical Service of FRIMETAL.
The header with the largest diameter is for the refrigerant inlet whilst the
other header is for the refrigerant outlet. If the condenser is multi-circuit
for service to various compressors, the unit is delivered with every cir-
cuit sealed and with pressured air independently. In these cases, the
operation described below must be done for every circuit.
1 Unscrew the stopper and the valve core placed in one of the hea-
ders to let all the air out. Replace them afterwards.
2 Cut the ends of both headers with a pipe cutter.
3 Place a wet cloth in the connecting pipe between the welding zone
and the coil to avoid the transmission of heat towards it.
4 Use an autogenous welding of propane and oxygen with a welding
rod of copper, phosphorus and silver alloy.
The headers and copper welding are the most delicate parts of the
condenser. In order to avoid damage to the coil due to an incorrect
installing, thus running the risk of causing refrigerant leaks, it is impe-
rative to take into account the following recommendations:
! WARNING!
- Throughout the connection process it is important not to force the
headers and move them from their original position, as this may bend
the header pipes, deteriorate the welded joints and cause leaks.
- Do not apply excessive heat while welding and prevent the torch
flame from pointing directly at the condenser so as not to weaken or
damage the existing welds in this area.
- In order to prevent the vibrations of the compressor from being
transmitted to the condenser a vibration absorber should be fitted to
the tube which connects the compressor with the condenser inlet.
- Avoid at all costs the presence of humidity inside the piping, as it is
harmful for all the refrigerating installation. In these cases it is neces-
sary to use proper dry filters to remove it completely.
CONEXIÓN DE LOS VENTILADORES
La gama de condensadores KC incorpora ventiladores centrífugos que
en unos casos son de tracción directa (modelos pequeños y medianos)
con el motor en el interior del centrífugo y en otros casos (modelos
grandes) de tracción mediante correas, transmitida desde el motor al
ventilador.
Para realizar las conexiones eléctricas hay que acceder a cada ventila-
dor quitando los paneles laterales del condensador, que van atornilla-
dos a la carrocería.
La caja de conexiones de los ventiladores va colocada en el lateral del
centrífugo en los modelos de tracción directa o sobre el motor en los
modelos de correas.
! ¡PRECAUCION!
Durante las operaciones de conexión de los ventiladores asegurarse de
que la corriente de alimentación eléctrica esté desconectada mediante
un interruptor de seguridad que no se pueda volver a conectar acci-
dentalmente.
MODELOS DE TRACCIÓN DIRECTA MONOFÁSICOS
9/9 y 10/10
Llevan motores de 230V/1 50Hz cerrados y protección IP-44.
Consultar los datos de consumo, potencia absorbida, velocidad etc,
en la chapa de características que lleva el ventilador en el lateral.
Se adjunta diagrama de conexiones con la lista de condensadores KC
que llevan estos ventiladores. Realizar la conexión de acuerdo a este
diagrama.

2 Manguera con los cables que llegan del motor a la caja.
3 Manguera a colocar por el instalador con tres cables correspon-
dientes a la línea monofásica L, N y a la toma de tierra PE.
Los modelos con la opción “ventiladores conectados” se entregan con
las mangueras (3) ya instaladas y conectadas a una caja de conexio-
nes centralizada según el diagrama que se adjunta. Esta caja está
situada dentro de la unidad, por el extremo donde se encuentran las
conexiones frigorífica y se accede a ella quitando uno de los paneles
laterales.
FAN MOTOR CONNECTION
The KC range of condensers incorporates centrifugal fans that in some
cases are direct driven (small and medium size models) with the motor
inside the centrifugal fan and in other cases (large size models) the fan
and motor are separate and the movement is transmitted through belts
and pulleys from the motor to the centrifugal fan.
To make the electric connections it is necessary to access individually
to each fan motor by removing the lateral panels of the condenser,
which are screwed to the casing.
The connecting box is placed on the side of the centrifugal fan (direct
driven models) or over the electric motor (belt driven models).
! WARNING!
During the fan motor connecting operation make sure that the electric
current is disconnected by jeans of a security switch so as to prevent
an accidental start.
SINGLE PHASE DIRECT DRIVEN MODELS 9/9 and
10/10
The electric motors are 230V/1 50Hz, closed and with protection IP-44.
Consult consumption, power input and rest of characteristics on the
data label stuck on the fan beside the box.
A connecting diagram is attached with a list including the KC models
with that kind of fan motor. Make the connections according to this dia-
gram.

3 Cable to be placed by the installer with three wires corresponding
to the single phase current line L, N and the earth wire PE.
Models with the option “wired fan motors” are delivered with the
cables 3 already installed and connected to an external and centrali-

situated inside the casing of the condenser at the same end of the
refrigerant connections and accessible by removing one of the lateral
panels.

 MODELOS DE TRACCIÓN DIRECTA TRIFÁSICOS 12/12
Llevan motores trifásicos 230V/400V 50Hz cerrados y protección IP-
44. Consultar los datos de consumo, potencia absorbida, velocidad
etc, en la chapa de características que lleva el ventilador en el lateral.
Se adjunta diagrama con las conexiones estrella / triángulo y con la
lista de condensadores KC que llevan estos ventiladores. De fábrica
los modelos estándar salen conectados a 400V (estrella).

2 Manguera con los cables que llegan del motor a la caja.
3 Manguera a colocar por el instalador con seis cables correspon-
dientes a la línea trifásica L1, L2 y L3, al termocontacto TK y a la
toma de tierra PE.

regleta para pasar de estrella a triángulo.
Los modelos con la opción “ventiladores conectados” se entregan con
las mangueras (3) ya instaladas y conectadas a una caja de conexio-
nes centralizada según el diagrama que se adjunta. Esta caja está
situada dentro de la unidad, por el extremo donde se encuentran las
conexiones frigorífica y se accede a ella quitando uno de los paneles
laterales.

THREE PHASE DIRECT DRIVEN MODELS 12/12
The motors are three phase 230/400V 50 Hz closed and with protec-
tion IP-44. Consult consumption, power input and rest of characteris-
tics on the data label stuck on the fan beside the box.
Attached there is a diagram with the connections Star / Delta and a list
of the KC models that have this fan motor. Ex-factory the units are deli-
vered connected at 400 V (Star).
1 Terminal strip.
2 Cable with the wires coming from the motor to the junction box.
3 Cable to be placed by the installer with six wires corresponding to
the three phase current line L1, L2 and L3, the thermocontact TK
and the earth wire PE.
4 Wires of the cable that must be changed in the terminal strip to
make the Star/Delta connection change.
Models with the option “wired fan motors” are delivered with the
cables 3 already installed and connected to an external and centrali-
sed junction box according to the attached diagram. This box is
situated inside the casing of the condenser at the same end of the
refrigerant connections and accessible by removing one of the lateral
panels.
¡IMPORTANTE!
Los ventiladores de tracción directa 12/12 incorporan un termocon-
tacto para protección térmica en el interior del bobinado con salida
de cable exterior (las bornas TK del diagrama de conexiones). Cada
ventilador debe alimentarse de corriente independientemente. Si un
ventilador se calienta por mal funcionamiento o por otra causa, al
sobrepasar la máxima temperatura permitida se abre el termocon-
tacto y desde el cuadro eléctrico se debe cortar la corriente a ese
ventilador y detenerlo, mientras que los demás pueden seguir fun-
cionando.
¡Solamente mediante la utilización del termocontacto se puede
garantizar la protección total del bobinado del motor! Si el instalador
no los conecta, la garantía de los ventiladores queda automática-
mente anulada, aunque se hayan utilizado otros sistemas para la pro-
tección del motor como puede ser el control del consumo.
MODELOS DE TRACCIÓN POR CORREAS 18/18
En estos modelos el motor 1 y el ventilador 2 van anclados sobre un
bastidor 3 sujeto a la carrocería del condensador. La transmisión del
movimiento se realiza mediante doble correa y poleas 4. El tipo de
correas y el diámetro de las poleas están calculados en función del
modelo de condensador y tipo de aplicación.
Entre el motor y el bastidor va colocado un tensor que se desplaza
girando el tornillo 5 para dar a la correa la tensión necesaria (ver párra-
fo tensaje de las correas).
IMPORTANT!
These direct driven fan motors of 12/12 have a thermocontact for
thermal protection inside the motor coil with external cables (see ter-
minal strips TK in the connection drawing). Every fan motor must
have an independent electric supply. If a fan motor heats up, due to
bad functioning or other reason, once the maximum allowed tempe-
rature is reached, the thermocontact opens and the current line to
this fan motor must be cut off from the control panel and the fan
motor stopped, while the others can continue running.
Only by using the thermocontacts it is possible to guarantee the total
protection of the motor coil! If the installer neglects their use and refu-
ses to connect them, the guarantee of the fan motors will be auto-
matically voided even if other methods have been used for protecting
the fan motors as in the case of the control by consumption.
BELT DRIVEN MODELS 18/18
In these models the electric motor 1 and the fan 2 are secured over a
frame 3 that is supported to the condenser casing. The movement is
transmitted by means of pulleys and double belt 4. The belt type and
the diameter of the pulleys are calculated depending the condenser
model and type of application.
Between the motor and the supporting frame there is a tensor platform
whose mission is to give the belts the necessary tension. This tensor is
regulated by turning the screw 5.

El motor puede funcionar a 50 o 60Hz, pero las relaciones de las
poleas están calculadas de fábrica para que el motor trabaje a 50Hz.
Se adjunta diagrama con las conexiones estrella / triángulo y con la
lista de condensadores que llevan estos ventiladores. De fábrica los
modelos estándar salen conectados a 400V, que corresponde a
conexión estrella para los modelos KCS y conexión triángulo para los
KCN, ya que el motor es diferente para ambos modelos.

Esta caja está situada por fuera del condensador, en el extremo
donde se encuentran las conexiones frigorífica y se accede a ella
directamente desde el exterior.

The electric motors are three phase, 1400 r.p.m and protection IP-55.

The motor can work both at 50 and 60Hz, but the pulleys dimensions
are calculated ex-factory for the motor to work with 50Hz current.
Attached there is a diagram with the connections Star / Delta and a
list of the KC models that have this fan motor. Ex-factory the units are
delivered connected at 400 V, which correspond to Star connection
for KCS models and Delta connection for KCN models, as motors are
different for each range.

end where the refrigerant connections are placed and accessible
directly from the outside.
DIRECCIÓN DEL AIRE
Una vez realizadas las conexiones de los ventiladores, dar corriente y
comprobar que los ventiladores funcionan correctamente.
En los modelos con motor trifásico, comprobar que la dirección del aire
es como en el dibujo. Si es errónea, cambiar entre sí dos de las líneas
L1, L2 y L3 de la corriente que llega a la manguera 3.
! ¡PRECAUCION!
Aunque los ventiladores de la gama KC están previstos para el acopla-
miento de conductos, también pueden funcionar a descarga libre, arro-
jando directamente el aire al exterior. En estos casos es necesario colo-
car una rejilla de protección reglamentaria en las bocas de salida del
aire con el fin de impedir que se puedan introducir los dedos en el inte-
rior y entrar en contacto con las partes móviles del ventilador.
TENSAJE DE LA CORREA
(modelos con ventilador 18/18)
Las correas transmiten movimiento entre dos poleas. Para que giren sin
deslizar, deben tensarse a un determinado valor que debe ser el míni-
mo que permita que el movimiento se transmita adecuadamente en las
condiciones de máxima carga, que son por lo general los arranques.
Una tensión escasa provoca deslizamientos mientras que una excesi-
va produce calentamiento de las correas así como sobrecarga en los
ejes, rodamientos, soportes etc, lo cual puede ocasionar a medio plazo
la rotura por fatiga de alguno de esos elementos.
En la práctica, la tensión de una correa no se puede medir directa-
mente y hay que hacerlo mediante un método aproximado basado en
la deformación o flecha d que adquiere la correa al aplicarle una deter-
minada fuerza F en el centro del voladizo y perpendicularmente a la
misma.
AIR DIRECTION
Once the electric connections are made, start the fan motors and check
they work correctly, smoothly and without vibrations or strange noises.
In the models with three phase motors, check that the air direction is as
shown on the attached drawing. If it is not so, change two phases of the
current line L1, L2, and L3 that arrive through cable 3.
! WARNING!
Although the KC fans are designed to be coupled to air distribution
ducts, they can also work with free discharge, expelling the air directly
to the outside. In those cases, it is necessary to place a protective gri-
lle, according to the security regulations, at the air outlet nozzles in
order to prevent the hands from reaching the blades or other mobile
parts of the fans.
BELT TENSION
(models with 18/18 fans)
The belts transmit movement between two pulleys. To have the belts
turning without slipping over the pulleys, they must be tighten up to
a value that should be the minimum allowing a transmission of the
movement in conditions of maximum duty without skidding.
A low belt tension produces slippping while an excessive tension pro-
duces the heating of the belts as well as an overload stress on the
axles, bearing, supports, etc. which could provoke in the long run the
failure by fatigue of some of these elements.
In practice, the belt tension can not be directly measured and it must
be done through an indirect and approximate method based on the
deflection d that suffers the belt when a force F is applied over it in
the middle of the belt span and in perpendicular direction.

 Las tensiones recomendables para las correas de tipo trapezoidal ins-
taladas en los condensadores son las siguientes:

Nota: Los condensadores llevan todos polea doble con dos correas.
La fuerza F y la deformación d se refieren a cada correa por separado.
De fábrica salen los condensadores con esta tensión. Pero hay que
tener en cuenta que en las primeras horas de funcionamiento la ten-
sión cae, por lo cual es necesario realizar una comprobación de la
misma al poco tiempo tras la puesta en marcha.
Para regular la tensión hasta alcanzar su valor adecuado hay que des-
plazar el motor haciendo girar el tornillo 1 que desliza la placa superior
del tensor colocado bajo el motor.
Aunque un instalador con experiencia puede calcular la tensión de

que facilitan la operación. Los más sencillos son de muelle extensible
que indican por un extremo la fuerza F aplicada y por el otro el des-
plazamiento d.
Al tratarse de doble correa, la comprobación es más sencilla ya que
mientras se aplica la fuerza sobre una de las correas, la otra sirve como
referencia para calcular el desplazamiento d.

The advisable tensions for the V-Shaped belts installed in the conden-
sers are as follows.

Note: All the condensers incorporate double belt and pulley. Force F
and deflection d are referred to each belt separately.
The condensers are delivery ex-factory with these tension values. It is
necessary to take into account that when new belts are installed, the
tension will drop after a few hours of operation. It is advisable to check
the tension a few hours after the coming into service of the condenser.
To regulate the tension until the proper value is obtained, shift the
motor by turning the bolt 1 that move the upper plate of the tensor
device placed under the electric motor.
Although an experienced installer can calculate the belt tension
manually, there are in the market different types of belt tension testers
that facilitate this operation. The simplest are the ones with an extensi-
ble spring that at one end shows the force F applied and at the other
end the deflection d.
Since there are two belts, the tension is easier to measure as while the
force F is applied on one the belts, the other can be used as a referen-
ce to calculate the deflection d.
SUSTITUCIÓN DE LOS VENTILADORES
! ¡PRECAUCION!
Antes de empezar las operaciones de sustitución de un motoventila-
dor, asegurarse de que la refrigeración está cortada y de que la corrien-
te eléctrica de alimentación a los ventiladores está desconectada
mediante un interruptor de seguridad que no se pueda volver a conec-
tar accidentalmente
En todo el proceso de cambio de ventilador u otras operaciones de
mantenimiento, se aconseja la utilización de guantes protectores regla-
mentarios.
MODELOS CON MOTOR DE TRACCIÓN DIRECTA
Son los modelos con ventiladores de 9/9, 10/10 y 12/12. En ellos el
motoventilador va sujeto a la tapa exterior del condensador por la boca
de salida del aire.
Estos condensadores adoptan diferentes formas, según la configura-
ción de la batería y la posición de las salidas del aire, que puede ser
lateral o superior.
A continuación se describe un procedimiento general para el cambio
de los ventiladores que puede aplicarse a todos los condensadores,
cualquiera que sea su disposición.
1 Quitar los tornillos y sacar una de los paneles laterales ciegos que
dan acceso al interior.
2 Quitar la tapa de plástico de la caja de conexiones del motor.
3 Aflojar los tornillos correspondientes de la regleta y soltar los cables
de la manguera que sale hacia el exterior del condensador para que
el ventilador quede libre para su extracción.
4 Quitar los tornillos que sujetan el panel que contiene la boca del
motoventilador y sacar el conjunto panel-motoventilador.
5 Quitar los tornillos que fijan el ventilador al panel y separar ambos
elementos.
Colocar el nuevo motor en el panel e invertir los pasos anteriores, pres-
tando atención a la colocación de los cables en la regleta para asegu-
rarse de que el ventilador funcione correctamente.
Si el ventilador es trifásico (los de tipo 12/12), comprobar la dirección
del aire según lo explicado más atrás en el apartado DIRECCIÓN DEL
AIRE.
REPLACEMENT OF FAN MOTORS
! WARNING!
Before starting operations to replace a fan motor, make sure that the
refrigeration is stopped and that the current line to the fan motors dis-
connected by means of a security switch so as to prevent an acciden-
tal start.
Throughout the whole process of the fan motor replacement or other
maintenance operation, It is advisable to use standard protective glo-
ves.
MODELS WITH DIRECT DRIVEN FAN MOTOR
These are the models with fan motors type 9/9, 10/10 and 12/12. The
centrifugal fan motor is fastened by its nozzle to one of the external
panels of the condenser, as shown in the attached drawing.
The situation of the outlet of the fan motor and the position of the coil,
that may be horizontal or vertical, vary from one unit to the other, as this
configuration is selected by the customer.
Below is described a general procedure for replace a fan motor that
can be applied to all the condensers, whatever its coil and fan motor
configuration.
1 Remove the screws and retire one of the blind lateral panel that give
way to the inside.
2 Remove the plastic lid of the fan motor plastic junction box.
3 Loosen the screws on the terminal strip and pull out the cable that
goes to the outside in order to allow the removal of the fan motor.
4 Remove the screws that fix the panel that supports the fan motor
and pull out of the condenser the whole assembly panel-fan motor.
5 Remove the screws that fix the fan motor nozzle to the panel and
split both elements.
Fix the new fan motor to the panel and reverse the fore-mention steps
minding the position of the wires on the terminal strip to assure the fan
motor is going to work properly.
If the fan motor is three phase (type 12/12), check the air direction
according to what was explained in the previous paragraph AIR
DIRECTION.

 MODELOS CON MOTOR DE TRACCIÓN POR CORREAS
La disposición del conjunto motor-ventilador es como en el dibujo
adjunto, aunque varía de un modelo a otro la posición de la salida del
aire y la colocación de la batería (vertical u horizontal). Para acceder al
interior hay que quitar los paneles laterales que van atornillados a la
carrocería. Los pasos a seguir son:
1 Girando el tornillo del tensor, destensar y sacar las correas.
2 Quitar la tapa de la caja de conexiones, quitar las conexiones de la
regleta y sacar la manguera con los cables.
3 Quitar los cuatro tornillos que sujetan el motor al tensor y sacar el
motor.
4 Quitar la polea del motor según se indica en el párrafo siguiente y
colocársela al nuevo motor.
Colocar el motor nuevo invirtiendo los pasos 1 a 3 y prestando aten-
ción a la posición de los cables en la regleta. Tensar las correas según
lo explicado en el apartado TENSAJE DE LAS CORREAS y comprobar
la dirección del aire según lo explicado más atrás en el apartado
DIRECCIÓN DEL AIRE.
Para cualquier otro cambio en la caja de ventilación, consultar la colo-
cación y sujeción de todas las piezas en la página siguiente.
EXTRACCIÓN / CAMBIO DE POLEA
Válido tanto para la polea del motor como la del centrífugo.
1 Quitar los tornillos que sujetan la polea y cojinete al eje.
2 Introducir uno de los tornillos en el tercer orificio de la polea y ros-
carlo hasta extraer totalmente el conjunto polea-cojinete.
3 Colocar de nuevo el conjunto según el dibujo.

MODELS WITH BELT DRIVEN FANS
The configuration of the assembly fan-motor is shown in the attached
drawing, though it may vary from one unit to another the situation of
the air outlet and the position of the coil (vertical or horizontal). To
access to the inside, it is necessary to remove one of the lateral panel
that are screwed to the casing. The steps to take are as follows:
1 Loosen and remove the belts turning the bolt of the tensor.
2 Remove the lid of the junction box, loosen the connections on the
terminal strip and pull of the cable with the wires.
3 Remove the nuts and bolts that fix the motor to the tensor and take
out the motor.
4 Remove the motor pulley as indicated in the next paragraph and put
it in the new motor.
Install the new motor reversing the steps 1 to 3 and minding the posi-
tion of the wires in the terminal strip. Tighten the belts following what is
explained in paragraph BELT TENSION and check the air direction
according to previous paragraph AIR DIRECTION.
For whatever other change in the ventilation module, consult position
and fixation of parts in the drawing of next page.
REMOVAL / CHANGE OF PULLEY
Method valid for the pulley of both motor and centrifugal fan.
1 Remove the bolts that fix the pulley and bush to the axle.
2 Screw one of the bolts in the third hole of the pulley until the pulley
and bush are totally removed.
3 Assemble again all the parts according to the drawing.

 LIMPIEZA
Para la limpieza utilizar agua y un detergente o desengrasante muy
diluido que no sea abrasivo para la pintura y que no ataque a los mate-
riales utilizados en el condensador, principalmente cobre, aluminio y
acero galvanizado.
La carrocería puede limpiarse con un trapo o esponja humedecida
mientras que la batería se debe limpiar mediante un chorro a presión
aplicado por la zona de las aletas y procurando que el agua penetre en
el interior de la batería todo lo posible para que la eficacia de la lim-
pieza sea máxima. Evitar dirigir chorros de agua hacia las cajas de
conexiones eléctricas.
¡IMPORTANTE!
A medida que la batería se va llenando de polvo y de suciedad
ambiental, la capacidad de evacuación de calor del aparato va redu-
ciéndose progresivamente. Una limpieza periódica de la batería es
pues necesaria para mantener el rendimiento máximo del condensa-
dor. La frecuencia de esta limpieza dependerá de las condiciones
ambientales del lugar de la instalación.
MANTENIMIENTO GENERAL
Verificar periódicamente que toda la tornillería utilizada esté bien apre-
tada y en buen estado, sobre todo los anclajes del condensador a la
estructura y la sujeción de los motoventiladores. Reapretarlos o cam-
biarlos en caso contrario.
Comprobar regularmente que las correas estén en buen estado y que
su tensión sea la adecuada siguiendo las indicaciones proporcinadas
en este Manual.
Comprobar que las conexiones de los cables en las regletas en las
cajas de conexiones de cada ventilador no estén flojas. En caso con-
trario, reapretar los tornillos de los terminales.
Si la unidad estuviera a la intemperie, y para asegurarse de que el agua
no entra en la cajas de conexiones, comprobar que no estén rotas o
deterioradas. Verificar la estanqueidad de todos los prensaestopas y si
fuera necesario, reapretarlos y sellar con masilla o silicona.
ADVERTENCIAS
El condensador es sólo un elemento en una instalación completa de
frío y su funcionamiento se controla externamente. Es responsabilidad
del instalador el colocar los controles necesarios que impidan que el
condensador pueda funcionar fuera de los límites de presión y tempe-
ratura especificados en su placa de características. Una instalación o
utilización del condensador que no se ajuste en su totalidad a dichos
límites o a lo especificado en este Manual supone una automática anu-
lación de la garantía concedida por FRIMETAL y la exención de las res-
ponsabilidades que puedan derivarse.
Todas las operaciones de instalación y mantenimiento deben ser reali-
zadas por personal técnico cualificado y se ha de tener en cuenta la
normativa vigente.
Es necesario comprobar que las condiciones medioambientales como
nivel salino, grado de humedad, presencia de humos u otros agentes
corrosivos así como productos de limpieza o desinfección que se pue-
dan utilizar no corroan los materiales de los que está compuesto el
condensador, fundamentalmente el cobre y aluminio de la batería. En
caso de duda, consultar con el Departamento Técnico de FRIMETAL
las diferentes opciones que existen en cuanto a tratamientos de pro-
tección. En cualquier caso, la garantía nunca cubrirá los gastos oca-
sionados por problemas de corrosión.

Equipos a Presión 97/23/CE de las que se adjunta la Declaración de

CLEANING
For cleaning, use a soft solution of water and detergent or grease
remover, not abrasive for the paint and which does not damage the
materials used on the condenser, mainly copper, aluminum and galva-
nized steel.
The body can be cleaned with a wet cloth or sponge while the coil
must be cleaned by means of a water jet applied on the fins area trying
to get the water into the coil as much as possible to optimize cleaning.
Avoid pointing the water jet to the electric junction boxes.
IMPORTANT!
As the coil gets dirtier and full of dust, the heat rejection capacity of
the unit reduces progressively. A periodic cleaning is thus necessary
to keep the maximum performances of the condenser. The frequency
of cleaning will depend on the environmental conditions of the place
where it is installed.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Check periodically that all the bolts and nuts are tight and in good con-
dition, mainly the fixations of the condenser to the structure and the
fastening of the fan motors. Tighten or replace them if needed.
Check periodically that the belts are in good condition and with the
necessary tensión. Follow the indications given in this Manual for that
end.
Check that the connections of the wires in the terminal strips inside the
junction boxes of each fan motor and in the external box are not loose.
Tighten the terminal screws if needed.
If the unit operates outdoors, to ensure that the rain water can not get
into the junction boxes, check that they are not broken or in bad con-
dition. Also check the waterproofing of all packing glands and tighten
and seal with putty or silicone if needed.
ADVICE
The condenser is only one element in a complete cold installation and
its functioning is controlled externally. It is the installer’s responsibility
to position the necessary controls to prevent the condenser from ope-
rating beyond the limits of pressure and temperature specified on its
data plate. Any installation or use of the unit in conditions that do not
comply entirely with the specifications of this Manual will automatically
void the guarantee given by FRIMETAL and the exemption of the res-
ponsibility that may result.
All installation and maintenance operations must be carried out by
qualified technical personnel and abided by current standards and
regulations.
It is necessary to check that the environmental conditions such as salt
and humidity level, presence of fumes or other corrosive agents as cle-
aning or disinfecting products that may be used, do not damage the
materials which the condenser is made of, mainly copper and alumi-
num from the coil. If in doubt, consult the Technical Department of FRI-
METAL about the different options there are as regards protective tre-
atments. In any case, the guarantee will never cover the expenses cau-
sed by corrosion.
All products manufactured by FRIMETAL comply with the European
