INTRODUCTION IN WEB DEVELOPING

Website

- A site or a website is a central location of various webpages that are


all related and can be accessed by visiting the home page of the
website using a browser.

Webpages

- Webpages is a document commonly written in HTML that contains


information about a certain topic.
- August 6, 1991 the first webpage was created by Tim Bernes-Lee

Browser

- A software program created as a simplified means to present and


explore contents on the World Wide Web (WWW).

Word Wide Web (WWW)

- A graphical interface for the Internet that was first introduced to the
public on August 6, 1991 by Tim Berners-Lee

Internet

- An electronic communication network that connects computer


networks and organizational computer facilities around the worlds.
- A limitless place to locate information and entertainment.

URL (Uniform Resource Locator)

- Also known as a web address. A URL indicates the location of a


resource as well as the protocol used to access it.
Types of Websites

 Brochure: The simplest type of website in term of functionality. Commonly


used by small business that needs a simple online presence.
 E-Commerce: A website through which users are able to pay for a product
or service online.
 Portal: A portal website brings together information from lots of different
sources on the web.
 Wiki: A wiki website is one allow people to collaborate online and write
contents together.
 Social Media: Social media websites are platforms which allow the sharing
of images of ideas.
 Entertainment Websites: Consist of interesting multimedia elements that
seek to provide entertainment for the users.
 Media Website: A website that collect new stories or other reporting.
 Personal Websites: A website personally created by the user to start a
career in the internet suck as vlogs, and photo diaries.
 Dating Sites: Online dating sites are a system that enables people to find
and introduce themselves to the other individual.

Parts of a Websites

 Header
- Typically includes a title and subtitle for the page.
 Navigation Menu
- Offers a number of hyperlinks that direct the user to the other pages
on the site
 Footer
- Include copyrights and credits for material on the page
 Content
- Include the subject of a webpages.
 Home Page
- The introductory page of the website.
