INT. HEELER HOUSE - KITCHEN - DAY

BANDIT hums, opening packets of chips, crackers and dips in
preparation for the Aussie Rules (AFL) Football game.
BLUEY and BINGO zoom back and forth past the island bench.
BANDIT
Hey squirts!
(kids zoom past)
Make sure your..
(kids zoom past)
room is clean..
(kids zoom past)
Before your..
(kids zoom past)
Uncle
(kids zoom past)
And cousins
(kids zoom past)
Get here!
With knife in hand Bandit examines a bunch of celery, tossing
it over his shoulder, sighing.
BANDIT (CONT’D)
Who am I kidding.
A distinct deep motorbike rumble fills the room.
BINGO
Uncle Stripe is here!
BLUEY
Dad, can I answer the door?
BANDIT
Go on then.

I/E. HEELER HOUSE - FRONT DOOR / ENTRY - CONTINUOUS

Bluey answers the door to reveal STRIPE, MUFFIN and SOCKS who
still wears his open face motorcycle helmet.
BLUEY
Uncle Stripe!

STRIPE
Hey kiddo!
SOCKS
Mo-mikes!
BLUEY
I think you mean motorbike silly.
SOCKS
Mo-mo-mikes.
BLUEY
No Socks its motorbike!
CHILLI
(enters with garden rake)
Bluey.. Socks is still learning!
Remember what you used to call
bananas?
BLUEY
Umm. Na-nas!
CHILLI
(to Stripe)
Where’s Trixie?
STRIPE
Sick with the flu.
Chilli freezes, mouth agape, arms out walking slowly backward
ala Homer in The Simpsons S13 E19 The Sweetest Apu.
BINGO
C’mon Muffin, lets play chasey!
Bluey, Bingo, Muffin and Socks run out of the room.
SUPERIMPOSE:

BLUEY (V.O.)
This episode of Bluey is called
Space Cadets!

INT. HEELER HOUSE - KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS

Chilli continues to walk backward as Stripe enters.

BANDIT
Hey bro! Wanna pie?
(confused look)
What are you doin Chil?
STRIPE
Trixie’s at home with the flu.
Bandit freezes, mouth agape, walking slowly backward.
BANDIT
I might just take Chil for a ride
on your bike.
STRIPE
I’m not contagious!
BANDIT
Just around the block. Won’t be
long!
Stripe sighs but perks up seeing the pies, chips and dip.

EXT. HEELER HOUSE - DRIVEWAY - STRIPE’S MOTORBIKE - DAY

Helmets on, Bandit sits on the bike, Chilli in the side-car.
CHILLI
We’re just going around the block
right?
BANDIT
Right.

INT. HEELER HOUSE - FAMILY ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Stripe sits to watch the AFL game, the kids playing chasey.
BINGO
No Muffin! You have to hop on one
foot when you chase me!
MUFFIN
I am!
BINGO
No you’re not!
MUFFIN
Yes I am!
(hops on left foot)
One hop..
(MORE)

MUFFIN (CONT'D)
(hops on right foot)
Two hops!
(faster)
One hop, two hops, three hops, four
hops!
BINGO
You’re running!
BLUEY
That’s how Dad runs.
(mimicking)
All lob sided. Ow my knees! Ow ow
ow.
Stripe sighs, adjusting his TV view as the kids run past.
STRIPE
Kids, kids! If you’re going to
watch the footy, you have to sit
quietly.
The kids fold their hands gruffly but relent and sit quietly.
AFL COMMENTATOR (V.O.)
And it’s bounce down!
STRIPE
Ahh..
Fast forward to one minute later.
AFL COMMENTATOR
Two goals inside the first minute!
The kids are running riot again. Socks, still wearing his
helmet, jumps off the couch back into Stripe’s stomach.
SOCKS
Wocket!
STRIPE
Arrgh!
(winded)
Alright, time to play rockets
outside!
Stripe bounces Socks like an astronaut through the air.
STRIPE (CONT’D)
Get your helmets Space Cadets!
Bluey, Bingo and Muffin wear bicycle helmets. Stripe makes
outer space sound effects as they slow walk.

EXT. SURBURBIA - STRIPE’S MOTORBIKE - DAY [RIDING]

Bandit and Chilli enjoy the fresh air on their faces.
CHILLI
(turning neck)
Bandit! You missed the turn off
back home!
BANDIT
Oopsie!
Chilli giggles, hands raised as they speed over the horizon.

I/E. HEELER HOUSE - FAMILY ROOM - DOOR - YARD - CONTINUOUS

Stripe takes a deep breath as they finally get to the door.
BLUEY
Why are you holding your breath
Uncle Stripe?
STRIPE
Your Dad has my helmet and I can’t
breathe outside.
BINGO
Coz it’s outer space?
STRIPE
That’s right kiddo. I’ll stay here
in the Command Centre and monitor
you on the TV.
Opening the door with sound effect, he ushers the kids out.
STRIPE (CONT’D)
That’s four small steps for K9-
kind!
(closes door with a click)
One giant leap for the Brissie
Lions!
Mouths agape realising they’ve been kicked out but recover.
MUFFIN
Lets choose the crew.
BLUEY
I’m the Captain!
BINGO
Aww!

BLUEY
You and Muffin can be my No. 1 and
No. 2.
Bingo and Muffin giggle.
SOCKS
(shows two fingers)
Poos.
BLUEY
Socks can be a Moon Martian because
he can’t say his words properly!
MUFFIN
Bluey! That’s not very nice, Socks
is just little! He’s still
learning!
BLUEY
I know! We can make it a teaching
game!
MUFFIN
Alright.
BINGO
It doesn’t look like the Moon.
The yard is sparkling clean after Chilli’s garden work.
MUFFIN
(thinking)
Let’s dig some holes!
The kids get to work digging small holes in the yard.
SOCKS
(pointing)
Hole!
BLUEY
On the Moon they’re called craters!
SOCKS
Cray-ders.
BLUEY
We need some Moon leaves.
MUFFIN
There’s no trees on the Moon Bluey!

BLUEY
That’s Captain Bluey No. 2. But
you have given me an idea. I’ll be
right back!

I/E. HEELER HOUSE - FAMILY ROOM - DOOR - YARD - CONTINUOUS

Bluey sneaks back into the house, making sound effects as she
opens the door. Stripe is asleep watching the AFL game.

INT. HEELER HOUSE - TOILET - FAMILY ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Bluey grabs all the toilet paper in a bag and exits. One roll
falls, unwinding as it bounces down the stairs, running out
of puff / paper in front of Stripe.
STRIPE
(sleep pawing)
Awoo-Oo!
BLUEY
Phew.
Bluey steals the tray of snacks into her bag and sneaks out.

EXT. HEELER HOUSE - YARD - CONTINUOUS

Muffin lines up Socks in front of a towering leaf pile.
MUFFIN
Ready, set, go!
BINGO
Run Moon Martian!
Socks bolts across the lawn, disappearing into the leaves.
BINGO (CONT’D)
Where did he go?
MUFFIN
Socks?
(to Bluey)
Captain! I’m glad you’re back!
We’ve lost the Moon Martian!
Sections of leaves rustle, giving away Sock’s position.
SOCKS
(ruffled)
Hi-Seek!

BLUEY
Leave this to me. I’ve played hide
and seek before.
(rummages through bag)
To catch a Moon Martian you have to
entice them with food.
(pulls out party pie)
Now, I need a volunteer to stick
their hand into his hiding place
holding this pie.
Muffin and Bingo tremble at the thought.
BINGO
Do Moon Martian’s bite?
BLUEY
Sometimes.
BINGO
(rubbing hand)
But Bluey! It hurts when Socks
bites!
MUFFIN
Maybe we can put the pies on the
outside and see if he takes one.
BLUEY
Good idea No. 2! I’m promoting you
to my No. 1!
Bingo looks shocked and saddened at her demotion. Muffin
places the pies outside of the leaf pile.
Bluey hands out the toilet rolls, launching one into a tree.
BLUEY (CONT’D)
Let’s make some Moon trees!
Unseen, Socks’s head emerges from the leaf pile.
SOCKS
(licking lips)
Moo-Pie!

EXT. THE BEACH - CARPARK - DAY

Bandit and Chilli eat ice-creams, watching the waves.
BANDIT
I hope Stripe and the kids are ok.

CHILLI
(grabs phone for selfie)
He’s a big boy.
BANDIT
Stripe. My brother.
CHILLI
Ok, ok, we’ll go back.
BANDIT
(embracing)
Five more minutes.

INT. HEELER HOUSE - FAMILY ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Stripe wakes to his phone buzzing. It’s Bandit and Chilli’s
beach selfie with Back Soon! overlaid in rainbow text.
STRIPE
(checks mobile)
Huh.. What!?
AFL COMMENTATOR
And that’s the end of three quarter
time!
Stripe rubs his sleepy eyes, looking at his phone, appealing
to the AFL commentator.
STRIPE
Oh nice!
(scratches head)
Better check on the kids.
Standing, he steps on the toilet paper, dragging it along.

EXT. HEELER HOUSE - DECK - YARD - CONTINUOUS

Stripe’s jaw drops watching the scene unfold. The kids have
turned the yard into a war zone of holes, toilet papered
trees and leaves.
MUFFIN
Captain Bluey look! The pies have
disappeared!
BLUEY
Any sign of the Moon Martian?
BINGO
Negative Captain!

BLUEY
Then we need to find more food!
BINGO
Maybe we should make some Moooon
Pies?
BLUEY
Excellent idea No. 2! To the
sandpit!
STRIPE
What have you kids..
MUFFIN
Dad! You can’t be out here without
a space helmet!
Stripe freezes, mouth agape, arms out walking slowly backward
ala Homer in The Simpsons S13 E19 The Sweetest Apu.

I/E. HEELER HOUSE - FAMILY ROOM - DOOR - YARD - CONTINUOUS

Stripe opens the door backwards, standing behind the glass.
STRIPE
No no no!
(banging)
Muffin! Put that hose down!
(giggles heard)
Bingo, no dirt pies!
(more giggles)
Bluey!
BINGO
That’s Captain Bluey to you!
STRIPE
Captain Bluey!
BLUEY
I can’t hear you from the Command
Centre! Maybe you should watch us
on TV!

INT. HEELER HOUSE - FAMILY ROOM - KITCHEN - CONTINUOUS

Stripe runs through the house looking for a makeshift helmet,
finally finding a stainless steel pot strainer to wear.
A distinct deep motorbike rumble is heard in the distance.
 11.

STRIPE
Uh oh.

EXT. HEELER HOUSE - DECK - YARD - CONTINUOUS

Stripe runs outside to see the kids throwing mud Moon Pies at
each other.
STRIPE
Captain Bluey! You need to stop!
The girls stop, initially worried they are in trouble before
coming together in a whispered huddle.
BLUEY
Space Cadet Stripe! Why aren't you
wearing your Moon Boots?
Muffin waves a pair of lawn aerator shoes. Sighing, Stripe
sits on the deck and puts the shoes on. He is suddenly hit
by a Moon Pie.
MUFFIN
My bad!
STRIPE
Come here you little rascals!
Stripe labours in the Moon Boots, naturally imitates Muffin’s
prior one ‘legged’ chase of Bingo.
STRIPE (CONT’D)
Ow my knees!
BLUEY
You sound like Dad!
BINGO
Ow!
MUFFIN
Ow!
A little Ow! is heard from the leaf pile.

MONTAGE - YARD
Stripe chases the girls around the yard, the trampoline, and
under the toilet papered trees, all the while being pelted
with Moon Pies and laughing.
A distinct deep motorbike rumble fills the air.
 12.

STRIPE
Uh oh.
Stripe makes a dash for the leaf pile, disappearing into its
dark belly.
BLUEY
Come out of there Space Cadet!
BINGO
Listen to your Captain!
Bandit and Chilli appear on the deck.
CHILLI
Oh my goodness!
BANDIT
Girls! What happened to the yard!
Where’s Uncle Stripe?
The girls point to the leaf pile.
CHILLI
Seriously squirts, where is he?
Stripe explodes out of the leaf pile with a loud yelp. Socks
has his jaw clamped hard on Stripe’s tail as he makes an
awkward dash, still wearing the Moon Boots.
BANDIT
I don’t run like that!
BLUEY
Have a Moon Pie Dad.
Bandit looks at Chilli who shrugs in defeat.
CHILLI
Go on then.
Bandit throws the Moon Pie at Stripe as the girls join in.

MONTAGE - YARD
Bandit chases Stripe around the yard, the trampoline, and
under the toilet papered trees, all the while being pelted
with Moon Pies and laughing.
FADE OUT.
