Letran Cheering Squad Narrative Report

I. Pep Rally 2018: Fearless!

- This was our first performance for academic year 2018-2019 and was held in Antonio
Varona Gymnasium, 8:00 Am. The purpose of this event is to introduce the athletes and
other performing arts of the group to the Colegio especially to the new students. The
event was organized by The Letran Student Council.

- We begin that day by having a call time of 7 o’clock in the morning for us to be able to
have a final run for our performance and also have the guts to display what we got
especially for those first times to dance in Letran. We didn’t have that much time to
ready ourselves because some of our team mates were late. The others came by 8:00
am and a few came at the exact time where we had to perform. But we were lucky to
have a good show giving the audiences an extra-ordinary excitement and entertainment.
Looking on how the audiences react, we attain our purpose and significance of the said
event that is to give energy, excitement, and liveliness to cheer our goal in this season of
NCAA.

- Our holding room was in the P.E rooms. We really thank God for giving us that day to
own by performing to our greatest. That performance was not only to perform itself but
it’s also to show the Letran community and the noble of the Colegio that we are getting
stronger and stronger year by year although half of the previous team graduated.

II. Binyag Arriba 2018-2019

- The second performance in the Colegio’s every year’s events and also held in Antonio
Varona Gymnasium at 8:00 am is the Binyag Arriba were transferees and freshmen are
introduce to the regularity of their chosen school . It is also for recognition of the new
comers, for them to learn what every letranites should know. Starting with the meaning
of the logos and history of the school since it’s the oldest College School in the
Philippines.

- To start this event, we had a call time of 7 AM to have a meeting and to have our last
practice in our performance but we didn’t had the chance to have our final run because
some of our members were late again. Despite of that, we were confident to show the
new students of what we are capable of, and what is the Letran Cheering Squad has.
Some of the team was rookies letting us to have difficulties in performing since few
from Pep Rally aren’t able to dance. We didn’t expect to have a perfect run in this event.
When the host called our name to perform we were confident and believing that we’re
going to make our routine perfect again just like we did last time favoring us to have the
same routine in Pep Rally to perform. The destiny played with us. We had a lot of failed
stunts but it didn’t bother us to lower our confidence in the middle of the performance.
We still finished it with the smile on our faces and hype the crowd to cheer. We know it
was not a perfect run but we cope up as a team to let that be our lesson and motivation
in our next performances.

- Our coaches didn’t like what they saw in our performance and they scolded us after. We
took the punishment as a team, learned our mistakes and wouldn’t let that happen
again in our next performances. After the routine we rested and ate the food that the
school gave us readying ourselves to teach the students about the official cheers of the
school with the help of Letran Band. Lastly, baptizing them with water and also the
rookies in our team.

III. NCAA ON TOUR; CSB vs LETRAN

- NCAA On tour was one of the event happened at Letran Campus, Salon de Actos and
Blessed Antonio Varona Gymnasium. Battle of the bands were conducted at Salon de
Actos which some of the great students of Letran Manila showcased their talents and
performed it to Letran community. This was one of the significant event happened in
Letran, CSB vs LETRAN (seniors) Basketball team that were going to fight. The purpose of
the event was to give support for Letran Knights Basketball Team (seniors) game against
CSB. Letran community was invited hence required to watch the game.

- Letran Cheering Squad was going to perform a routine for the half time of the game.
There was a call time of 2:00 pm for team so that some stunts and tosses would be able
to recap. Our team was assigned to occupy the P.E. room to get ready and wear the old
season uniforms. All scholars and members were ready to performed and offer a good

IV. LOS PRIMEROS

- The Spanish worded event has the meaning of “The First”, indicating the student’s
performance achieving in the top and how glorious the Colegio was in terms of quality
education. Two students from different programs are fortunately passed in their board
exams and unexpected reach the top 1 and 2 in nationwide. That makes the people in
charge glad also they give the letranites a pride and inspiration.

- As usual, we got a morning call time for blockings and last run before performing the
routine prepared for the event. Watching how proud everyone to see the board takers
succeed. Dreaming that we are those in the front awarding by the professors and etc.
That scenario was a great motivation for us to do well in what we’re going to perform.
We got the routine revised a little for the letranites appreciate more than what they
commonly watched in our previous performance. It resulted in success, the audience,
and the board passers got entertained and proud.

- Our coaches also got proud of what we showed in this event. We have our company call
to discuss the new insights and letting us know that performance is great. Afterwards,
officers took the food prepared for us and distribute it fairly. It is the time to change
clothes and be ready to leave but that feeling of being able to perform for a prideful
deed of fellow letranites is an honor is still hanging on our minds while leaving the
Gymnasium.
