Knauf Wetroom Solutions with AQUAPANEL®
Technology Inside
Heavy duty
On its own, the AQUAPANEL® Cement Board Indoor is strong and
rigid and will support up to 50 kg of tiles per square metre of wall.
But with the AQUAPANEL® Traverse, light console loads are borne
securely up to 1.5 kN/m2.
Suspended ceiling
Suspended ceilings ensure that installations are secured. Moreover,
depending on the construction, they can help improve sound and
fire protection of a building.

When building the metal framework, follow the standard guidelines supplied by Knauf. Connection to solid walls
In rooms with continuous high levels of damp or chemical contamination such as commercial kitchens,
swimming pools, saunas or chemical laboratories, use profiles with increased corrosion protection.
Non-load-bearing partition walls should have expansion joints at least every 7.2/7.5 metres.
A further improvement in the sound reduction level of 1 to 3 dB can be achieved through using special
sound insulation profiles, e.g. Knauf MV profile.

Corrosion protection
Humid and warm air can cause damage and corrosion to metal load class C. Special measures have to be taken for load class D
substructures. Care must be taken to ensure adequate corrosion depending on use and corrosive contamination. National standards

EN 13964 can be regarded as being decisive for corrosion protection.

(according to ASTM Standard C 1325-04)
In case of fire resistance the dimension of the wall (thickness) or the dimension of single wall
Weight of components kg/m Board type kg/m²
components could always be increased. Further the dry density of the insulation can be increased
CW 50 0.70 GKB 12.5 mm 9.3
(acc. EN1364-1). In case of sound insulation note the following: an increased wall thickness (with
increased dimensions of the wall components) always benefits the system (excluding an increased CW 75 0.80 GKF 12.5 mm 10.2
material thickness of the stud). A flow resistance of >= 5 for the insulation material is always a CW 100 0.90 GKF 15 mm 13.3
benefit for the system in case of sound issues. An increased dry density of the insulation could CW 125 0.95
downgrade the sound performance of the system.
