1. Login OLT with configuration cable
Insert configuration cable into OLT CONSOLE port, configure PC terminal emulation
system, the parameters as following:
Baud rate: 9600
Data bits: 8
Parity: No
Stop bit: 1

2. Enter globle configuration mode

Input enable and password, enter OLT management mode, no default enable
password.
Input config and enter globle configuration mode.

3 Configure AAA access authority (LINE)

Only one password under Line mode, but could set different line simultaneously, the
command could be appointed. Therefore, we usually use LINE certification.

CON port, AUX port, corresponding to the line con and line aux; usually there is only
con port for one network equipment, and one aux port at most, or even not.

telnet / rlogin are corresponding line vty; because it is the virtual connectivity, multiple
vty can be coexisted, usually configuration commands≤ 64.

Switch_config#aaa authentication login default line Set the default login as LINE.
Switch_config#line vty 0 4
Enter the VTY mode 0-4 line and limit login 5 lines at the same time.
Switch_config_line#password ktcatv Set 0-4 line password as KTCATV.
Switch_config#service password-encryption Use MD5 encrypted password.
 Use “show running-config” command to see the line certification.

4. Configure OLT to manage IP, VLAN and default gateway

Configure OLT to manage IP, set the IP address as 170.30.12.2 255.255.252.0
Set management VLAN as 2125
Set default gateway as 170.30.12.1

Configuration command
Switch_config#vlan 2125
Switch_config_vlan2125#interface vlan 2125
Switch_config_v2125#ip address 170.30.12.2 255.255.252.0
Switch_config#ip default-gateway 170.30.12.1

Use show running-config command to check IP, manage VLAN and default gateway.

Remark: PTC04 can configure only one IP address, as for it’s the 2-layer product. If
re-configure management VLAN and IP, you must delete the former IP address and
enter new VLAN IP address.

5. Delete IP address command as following:

Switch_config_v2125#no ip address
Open all uplink ports and PON ports of OLT
All default ports of OLT are shutdown, set it as no shutdown when use the port.
 Configuration command
Switch_config#interface range gigaEthernet 0/1 - 6
Switch_config_if_range#no shutdown Open all uplink ports
Switch_config#interface range ePON 0/1 - 4
Switch_config_if_range#no shutdown Open all PON port

Use show running-config command to check whether all ports are open.

6 Configure uplink port

Configure uplink No. 1 port
No. 1 port needs to pass through management VLAN 2125
No. 1 port needs to pass through business VLAN 2240~2244
 Configure command
Switch_config#vlan 2240-2244
Switch_config#interface gigaEthernet 0/1
Switch_config_g0/1#switchport mode trunk
Switch_config_g0/1#switchport trunk vlan-allowed 2125,2240-2244

Use show running-config command to check the configuration of port 1

7 Configure the PON port

Configure the NO.1 PON port
Configure the PON port to allow VLAN 2125 and VLAN2240~2244.

Configuration command
Switch_config#interface ePON 0/1
Switch_config_epon0/1#switchport mode trunk
Switch_config_epon0/1#switchport trunk vlan-allowed 2125,2240-2244
Use show running-config command to check the configuration of No.1 PON port

8. ONU installation and configuration

Default ONU registration certificate is automatic registration, ONU will be registered to
OLT automatically. And then all ports will allow all VLAN pass. Moreover, all ports are
physical isolation so that no need to configure the ONU, plug and play.

9. Save the configuration

Use the command write to save the configuration, or the OLT configuration will be lost
after reboot.

10. Configure OLT with TELNET
After configuration, set No.1 port as uplink port. This port will pass through both
management data and business data. Configure the port on the center switch to visit
OLT network segment. Get into management computer, and use TELNET to visit
equipment.
