1.1 Preparations for Unpacking Inspection

The installation conditions for equipment should be ensured in the equipment room
before unpacking and inspection. The relevant conditions are as follows:

1. Make sure that civil engineering of the equipment room is completed.

2. Equipment room environment should meet the requirements.

3. Power supply should be ready. The electric power should be sufficient. The number
of connection terminal on the power distribution cabinet should be enough for the
equipment. Necessary power system in support should be provided.

4. The grounding should meet the standard, namely adopting joint grounding method
for grounding, with grounding resistance less than 1ohm. The quantity of
connection terminals of copper bars should be enough for equipment grounding.

If the above conditions are not ready, it is recommended that the unpacking and
inspection should be delayed. In this case, immediate negotiation with the operator
should be started to provide the above conditions as soon as possible.

The implementation of unpacking and inspection involves following preparations.

1.1.1 Preparations for Tools

Following tools are needed for the unpacking and inspection, so they should be
provided in advance:

 Crowbar

 Nail hammer

 Diagonal pliers

 Anti-static wrist strap

1.1.2 Presence of Relevant Personnel

1.3 Precautions for Unpacking Inspection

The details are described below:

1. Checking whether the packing box is in good condition

Check if all the packing boxes are intact before unpacking. If any damage occurs to
the packing box, check whether the equipment/goods are influenced due to this
damage. The packing box damage should be recorded in detail. If necessary, take
photos for reference.

Check if the arrival place is consistent with the actual installation site.

2. Organizing goods

The unpacking inspection should be performed complying with reasonable

sequence, and the goods should be stacked as planed.

The list of all parts of the equipment and technical documents are placed in
Packing Box 1, and the documents inside Packing Box 1 guide subsequent
unpacking. Therefore, unpack Packing Box 1 first.

3. Handling carefully and avoiding injury

Unpack the packing box carefully, not only avoiding damaging the equipment, but
also ensuring user safety.

Note:

Handle the goods with care and make sure not to damage equipment coating.

4. Using tools properly

Different boxes are unpacked with different tools, and different equipment should
be carried with corresponding tools. Select some proper tools to unpack the box
successfully, thus avoiding damaging the equipment.

5. Taking anti-static measures

Pay special attention to anti-static requirements of the circuit board, and do not tear the anti-
static bag of the circuit board.

6. Making data records

There is a wide range of equipment/goods inside boxes, check each item

according to the packing list, and ensure that the records are correct and no
equipment/goods is missing.

2 Unpacking
Telecommunication equipments usually are delicate electronic equipments. It should be
handled with good packing during the transportation and should have anti-water and
anti-shock labels. After the equipment arrives at the customer installation site, it should
be handled gently and must keep away from sunlight and rain.

Note:

Upon arriving at the destination, the goods must be unpacked and accepted in the presence
of the ZTE cooperation personnel. Before unpacking, check whether the number of items is
consistent with that in the packing list and check whether the packing box is intact.

All the equipment arriving at the site should be packaged with packing boxes. The
packing boxes consists of wooden boxes and small boxes.

1. Wooden box

Wooden boxes are used for the large-sized equipment. For instance, a cabinet can
be packaged in a big wooden box; cabinet door panels can be packaged in smaller
wooden boxes. Other materials and parts are directly placed in a large wooden
box. However, in most cases, these materials and parts are firstly packed in boxes
with their names and quantities clearly marked outside the boxes before they are
together placed in a large wooden box.

2. Small box

Small boxes are normally used to pack small-sized equipment, circuit boards,
handsets and auxiliary materials.

All the boxes have indicated a box sequence number and the total number of
boxes. Packing Box 1 contains Unpacking Inspection Report and Packing
(Inspection) List.

packing boxes are used for packaging boards. Circuit boards are placed in antistatic
bags for transportation. During the unpacking, antistatic measures must be taken to
avoid damages to the equipment. At the same time, influence of the environment
temperature and humidity shall be taken into account. Usually some desiccants are
placed in the antistatic bag to absorb moisture in the air inside the bag and keep the bag
dry. When the equipment is moved from a colder and drier place to a hotter and damper
place, waits for at least 30 minutes before unpacking the equipment. Otherwise,
moisture may condense on the surface of the equipment and cause damage.

The cartons are generally placed in the wooden box. If few devices are to arrive at the
site and they have a small volume, possibly they are not packaged with wooden boxes.
