AVP – Head of Applications

BRE Asia provides services to Blackstone Real Estate Fund entities in Asia. Our key service lines are currently focused towards
accounting, financial reporting and treasury. As BRE Asia grows to replicate the services of its sister company in Luxembourg
and further support Blackstone in Asia, we will increase our scope to include (but not limited to) Tax compliance (VAT and
CIT), Corporate Secretarial Services, Transactional Support, Treasury Operations, Domiciliation Services, Director Services, and
Systems Support.

AVP - Head of Applications

JOB SUMMARY
The Head of Applications is a senior IT leadership role reporting to the global CIO/CTO and BRE Asia executive management.
The role oversees all the enterprise application platforms, delivers technology projects to meet business objectives leveraging
vendor teams or direct staff. The role is responsible for the creation, maintenance and management of a technology roadmap
that is aligned with business needs, reflects best practices and increases option value for the organization. The role ensures
that the respective business, application, data and technology perspectives are in line with the organization’s technology and
governance strategies, policies and standards. The role is expected to provide technology thought leadership addressing
complex project issues by facilitating alignment across disparate teams.
The role ensures enterprise architecture models and associated design components are maintained. Ensures that the overall
IT architecture is maintained in a coherent manner and that appropriate considerations are made for its extensibility, security
and quality. The role will be a champion of the Chef Collaboration Framework for the organization and ensure its application
and consistent adoption for all projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The primary responsibilities of this position are:
 Manage the portfolio of all applications within the organization.
 Work with all departments and business leaders to define strategic and tactical needs for technology enabled
business processes.
 Develop/enhance Technology roadmap for the organization.
 Provide leadership and guidance on all aspects of application deployment projects including, but not limited
to business process optimization, requirements analysis and design, configuration, development, conversions,
system testing, cut over and production support.
 Provide guidance in product, component and vendor selection as appropriate for specific projects.
 Own the maintenance, support and continued enhancement of all applications within the organization.
 Champion and lead efforts to deploy the use of the Chef Collaboration Framework for all significant
technology deployment projects for the organization.
 Develop and maintain relationships with vendor partners to provide support for outsourced applications.
 Define Enterprise Architecture strategies, principles, vision, standards, tools and methodologies.
 Understand current enterprise application integration capabilities including the use of services-based
frameworks and other data integration technologies and strive for continuous improvement.
 Must be able to lead a team of Technical Architects/Leads and guide them to efficiently deploy necessary
software assets for the company
 Understand concepts of Data architecture including creating/updating data models for key business entities,
and documenting reference and master data requirements, providing guidance on data quality with respect to
accuracy, currency and usage and provide recommendations related to data security, retention and archival.

SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

 Must have at least an Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field. Graduate school
experience in Computer Science, MIS is a plus.
 Must have at least 7 years of experience in a senior IT leadership role overseeing enterprise applications
 Must have at least 7 years software engineering and architecture experience.
 Experience with applications in the Real Estate and Financial/Accounting systems (Yardi, MRI, SAP, etc)
domains is a big plus

 Ability to initiate and direct collaborative efforts of multiple teams including portfolio company, shared
services, advisory team, third party vendors and other constituent groups as appropriate with aim of
furthering the program goals
 Comprehensive knowledge of systems design and development process, including requirements analysis,
feasibility studies, software design, programming, pilot testing, installation, evaluation and operational
management.
 Knowledge of information technology infrastructure, networking and cloud technologies and the ability to
understand and manage the entire spectrum of information technology operations
 Experience with implementation of information technology migrations and integrations
 Creative thinking, problem solving and decision making. Proactive and self-starter.
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work within a team environment.
 Excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
 Strong presentation and documentation skills.
Experience working in the ASEAN and Oceania regions a plus
 Knowledge of Chinese/Japanese a plus
