WS_FTP MANUAL FOR PANACEA PLUS

WS_FTP LE is a Windows-based file transfer client application that transfers files

between a user’s local PC and another, remote computer system connected via a
modem and telephone lines or by a local-area network. With WS_FTP LE, users
can connect to any remote system that has a valid Internet address and an FTP
server program, browse through directories and files, and transfer files between
the two systems. In addition, users can create, change, and remove directories
and view, execute, rename, or delete files.

WS_FTP LE complies with the Windows sockets (Winsock) standard, allowing you
to transfer files between a wide variety of systems, including Windows, OS/2,
and UNIX systems.

Using WS_FTP to transfer files or loading software to the PANACEA PLUS:

1. The first step is to connect a cross cable between the Ethernet port of the
PC and the PANACEA PLUS.
2. You must open the program in your PC, this can be made by double
clicking on the shortcut located on the Desktop or on the Quick Launch
located at the Tool bar:

Double Click

By clicking on the OK button, the PC establishes a FTP (File Transfer Protocol)

connection with the PANACEA PLUS showing the next screen:

PANACEA PLUS IP Address

In this screen you can see on the left side the information on the PC (Local
system) and on the right side the PANACEA PLUS (Remote site) contents. On
each side the files and folders information is showed in details: Name, Date of
modification, size (in KB).
As the objective is to transfer files that determine the functionality and
operability of the PANACEA PLUS, you must search on the location bar, at the PC
side, the folder that contents the information that you want to load on the
PANACEA PLUS. This search can be made in three ways:

1. By clicking on the arrow of the location bar and selecting the folder as
shown in the next screen:

Location Bar Arrow

2. By typing on the location bar the exact location of the folder and pressing
Enter key.
3. Using the green arrow at this side to go to the upper directory, until
you find the folder with the information to be loaded on the PANACEA
PLUS.

Green Arrow
to go Up
Once you have found the folder with the information to be loaded, you can begin
the process to load the new software to the PANACEA PLUS. While loading new
information to the PANACEA PLUS you must do step by step the following:

1. You must verify that the folder in the PC side (Local System) contents the
folders BIN and CONFIG related with the software version that you want
to load on the PANACEA PLUS.
2. At the PANACEA PLUS side (Remote Site) you must go to the CONFIG
folder and pay attention to the first file of this folder, it must be
ANADMA.JBC or ANATMZ.JBC. The name of this file will determine the
kind of the PANACEA PLUS and it must be present in the file UNID.CFG to
be loaded. To verify the file UNID.CGF, in the PC side, you must go to the
CONFIG folder, select the file UNID.CFG (at the end of the list) and click
on the View button as show in the next screen:

1. Select the
file UNID.CFG

2. Click on the
View Button

The file UNID.CFG is shown in Notepad, so you can verify if the file
ANADMA.JBC or ANATMZ.JBC is present or not, by going down until the line:

; Configuracao do cartao de oscilografia

;* CARTAO_OSCILO = ARQ_PROG ANADMA.JBC
* CARTAO_OSCILO = ARQ_PROG ANATMZ.JBC
Go to this section
of the file

If the first file that appeared at the beginning of the CONFIG folder in the
PANACEA PLUS side was ANADMA.CFG you must delete the sign ; present at
the beginning of the line * CARTAO_OSCILO = ARQ_PROG ANADMA.JBC put the
sign ; to the line * CARTAO_OSCILO = ARQ_PROG ANATMZ.JBC and save the
file. As result the file must have the next form for PANACEA PLUS of kind
ANADMA:

; Configuracao do cartao de oscilografia

* CARTAO_OSCILO = ARQ_PROG ANADMA.JBC
;* CARTAO_OSCILO = ARQ_PROG ANATMZ.JBC

Else, If the first file that appeared at the beginning of the CONFIG folder in
the PANACEA PLUS side was ANATMZ.CFG you must delete the sign ;
present at the beginning of the line * CARTAO_OSCILO = ARQ_PROG ANATMZ.JBC
put the sign ; to the line * CARTAO_OSCILO = ARQ_PROG ANADMA.JBC and
save the file. As result the file must have the next form for PANACEA PLUS of
kind ANATMZ:

; Configuracao do cartao de oscilografia

;* CARTAO_OSCILO = ARQ_PROG ANADMA.JBC
* CARTAO_OSCILO = ARQ_PROG ANATMZ.JBC
Important: Notice the difference for the two cases. The sign ; indicates
that the line in front is a commentary, in the opposite if a line doesn’t have
the sign ; it minds that this line is active in the program.

You can also do this process by opening UNID.CFG with a text editor program
such as Notepad or Wordpad, and saving the modifications.

Important: If you do the changes as the last method it is possible to get

disconnected, so you must connect again as it was explained before.

3. Once you have done the changes, you must save and close the file, so
you will see the main window of the WS_FTP. In this screen you must
click on the refresh button, so the system in the PC (Local System) will
take the changes made on the all files.

Click on the
Refresh Button

4. For loading the software in the PANACEA PLUS you must go to the folder
BIN by doing double-click in the PANACEA PLUS side, select the file
UACM4.RTB and pressing on the Delete Button at that side:
Double Click

1. Select
UACM4.RTB

2. Click on
Delete Button

Click on Yes Button in the next window:

When you have done the last step, the next screen will be shown where the
are no files in the BIN folder at the PANACEA PLUS side:

5. Go to the BIN folder in the PC side, select the UACM4.RTB file and press

the Arrow that is indicating to the right side located in the middle of
the Window. This action will load the file UACM4.RTB that is in the PC to
the BIN folder on the PANACEA PLUS. In this step appears the next
window indicating the loading:

Wait while the loading is in process. If you have your sound card turned
on, there will be a sound indicating that the load has been done.
6. Once you have loaded the file UACM4.RTB from the PC to the PANACEA
PLUS, verify that in the BIN folder on PANACEA PLUS side is the file
UACM4.RTB, press the Green arrow to go to the upper directory.

7. Double click on the CONFIG folder on the PANACEA PLUS side, select all
the files except ANADMA.CFG or ANATMZ.CFG, and delete them pressing
the Delete button in the same side.

1. Select all the files

except ANADMA.JBC
or ANATMZ.JBC

2. Click on the
Delete Button
Click on the Delete All button in the next window:

After, the main window of the WS_FTP will show just two files in the
CONFIG folder on the PANACEA PLUS side: ANADMA.CFG or ANATMZ.CFG
and UNID.BAS.
8. Go to the CONFIG folder in the PC side, select all the files from
DEFAULT.INI until WS_FTP.LOG at the PC side and press the Arrow that is

indicating to the right side located in the middle of the Window. This
action will load all the selected files to the CONFIG folder on the PANACEA
PLUS. Wait a moment while the files are transferred. If you have your
sound card turned on, there will be a sound indicating that the load has
been done. Verify the transferred files in the CONFIG folder at the
PANACEA PLUS side.

9. Once the load has been completed, you must verify in UNID.CFG file on
the PANACEA PLUS side that the line * CARTAO_OSCILO = ARQ_PROG is
related to the right file ANADMA.JBC or ANATMZ.JBC depending of the
kind of PANACEA PLUS and the first file listed on its CONFIG folder. This
can be verified by selecting the file UNID.CFG and clicking on the View
button (as explained before).

10. If the information in the file UNID.CFG on the PANACEA PLUS side, is
wrong you must modify this file at the PC and load again this only file in
the same way as it was explained.

11.The last step is to reset the PANACEA PLUS and verify in the display that
the version of the software is the one loaded. The new software will be
active in the PANACEA PLUS once the reset had been done. Some
examples of software versions are:

a. b66 version mod 2000 > function recloser.

b. b66 version mod 2002 > function directional.
c. b66 version mod 2004 > function 87T differential.

Some suggestions to consider while the loading process are:

1. If the PANACEA PLUS have 3V module you must verify, before the
loading, that the UNID.CFG file has the following lines enabled (without ;)
as shown in the next screen:

Delete the ; sign at the

beginning of the line.

This is:
INFO 2 A_KV2_A StrKV2_A @FATESC_MV2
INFO 2 A_KV2_B StrKV2_B @FATESC_MV2
INFO 2 A_KV2_C StrKV2_C @FATESC_MV2
INFO 2 A_HZ StrHZ1 0.006

2. If there is a connection failure. At the bottom of the main window will

appear the message ! Receive error: connection reset ! or ! Send error:
connection reset ! and the action that failed. The solution is to click on the
Close button at the bottom of the main window, then the Session
Properties window will appear, so click on OK and try to connect again (as
explained before).

3. On the PC side the files UNID.BAS and ANATMA.CFG or ANATMZ.CFG

must NOT be there. Those files are always in the CONFIG folder on the
PANACEA PLUS. If you try to pass them to the PANACEA PLUS side,
messages as the following will be shown and you must click on NO:

4. If the connection fails every time you try to connect to the host, to solve
this problem, you must verify the IP address of both the PC and the
PANACEA PLUS (host). If the IP address is right on the two sides, but the
connection can not be established the next process must be made:

To get connected with the PANACEA PLUS you must try with a cross
RS232 (serial) cable by connecting it between the PC and the PANACEA
PLUS. To establish this kind of connection, the cross cable must be
between the port COM2 in the PANACEA PLUS and COM1 in the PC. Then
you must open a HyperTerminal session and reset the PANACEA PLUS.
You have to stop the booting process by pressing F1 while the PANACEA
PLUS is restarting, in that way you can modify the principal file in the
PANACEA PLUS that is UNID.CFG. The medium to modify this file is by
using commands following the next steps:

a. Write in the command line: dir

b. Then you must see the file directory on the screen where must appear
the folder CONFIG.
c. Enter to the CONFIG folder, by writing in the command line: cd config
d. Now you are in the CONFIG folder, to verify this you must write in the
command line: dir, in the list that is shown on the screen it must be
the files UNID.CFG and UNID.BAS.
e. The next step is to type on the line command the following:
copy unid.bas unid.cfg , by doing this you are copying the information
from UNID.BAS to UNID.CFG.

At the end of this process you must reset the PANACEA PLUS.
Doing the last steps, you certainly know the new IP address of the
PANACEA PLUS:

New IP address: 100.101.100.101.

Now you can connect to the PANACEA PLUS by using the WS_FTP
program but entering this new IP address in the line that refers to Host
Name/ Address and with the passwords specified in this manual.

Once you have loaded the new version of the firmware or the
corresponding software to operate the PANACEA PLUS you can connect
again using the default IP Address: 100.101.3.1.

5. IF THE PANACEA PLUS IS ALREADY WORKING with some defined

parameters in the file PARAM.INI, an important point to consider before
change the firmware of the PANACEA PLUS is to maintain the actual
configuration and keep the system working, so you must use the program
to edit the parameters with the purpose of generate a new file of
parameters. This is made, for example in the Edit_Param software for
B69, by introducing all the actual parameters of the PANACEA PLUS in this
application and saving the changes, in this way Edit_Param generates the
file PARAM.EDT in the Edit_Param folder. You must copy this file to other
folder (for example the CONFIG folder of the New firmware), and change
the file extension of PARAM.EDT to PARAM.INI (changing the name) so in
the loading process you must copy the file PARAM.INI from the PC to the
PANACEA PLUS as explained before. This is made with the objective of
keep the configuration of the control (PANACEA PLUS) and to avoid the
change of state of the recolser (closed to opened or opened to closed).

6. The last options to use, if the connection couldn’t be established, are:

a. Verify the IP address of the PC.

b. Verify that the cable is connected at the tow sides.
c. Verify that the cable you are using is a cross cable.
d. Disable the energy of the PANACEA PLUS for 60 seconds and
restart again.
e. Change the ends of the cable between the PC and the PANACEA
PLUS.
f. Verify the local-area network port on the PC.
