TI down the years
1949 TI Cycles of India is
established in collaboration
with Tube Investments
Limited, UK.
1955 A backward integration into the
manufacture of tubes is initiated
through Tube Products of India..

1959 Tube Products of India Limited


merges with TI Cycles of India.
Name changed to Tube
Investments of India Limited. TI is
listed.
1962 Another backward integration is
initiated through a cold rolling mill
for the production of CR strips.
1967 TI makes its maiden bonus issue-one
for two shares held.

1979 TI makes a public issue of 5.5 Lakh


shares at par. Issue is oversubscribed
by more than 25 times.

1982 Foray into metal forming


for the automobile
industry through a new 2
factory at Avadi
TI down the years
1985 TI makes a second bonus issue-one
for three shares held.

1989 TI issues rights of 10.29 Lakh shares


at Rs. 20 per share

1992 TI makes and issue of 36,70,595


partly convertible debentures of Rs.

1994 TI makes a GDR issue for $50


million

1995 TI issues its third bonus-one for


every three held

1996 EOU for tubes is established at Avadi

1997 A new tube plant at Shirwal in Satara


District is commissioned

1998 A new facility to produce car


doorframes for Maruti 800 is set up
at Bawal near Gurgaon (Haryana).
The Company sets up facilities for
producing doorframes for Hyundai
Santro at Nemilicherry factory.

2001 The company sets up a cycle


manufacturing plant at Nashik in
Maharashtra. Turnover and
profitability cross Rs. 1000 Cr and Rs.
50 Cr respectively
