I just want to restore these problems.

1.) Allan can finish a painting job 2 days longer than Ben. Working together, they can finish the job in
2.4 days. How many days will it take Ben alone or Allan alone to do the job?
ca. Allan=4 days
Ben=6 days
Solution:
Lets transform 2.4 into fraction
2.4=2/10
24/10 ÷ 2/2=12/5
Now lets proceed. I prefer to use MSD method with a twist.
Since Allan can finish the job 2 days longer than Ben, the equation is like this...
A=B+2
But because the formula I will be using is not suitable for that equation. Change it to B=A-2.
Step 1: Multiply Subtract and Divide
=2 x 12/5 ÷ 2-12/5
=24/5 ÷ 2/1 - 12/5
=24/5 ÷ 10/5 -12/5
=24/5 ÷ 2/5
=24/5 x 5/2
=120/10
=12
Step 2: Divide 12 by 2.
=12÷2
=6
Hence, Allan can finish the job in 6 days.
How about Ben?
B=A-2
B=6-2
B=4
Thus, Ben can finish the job in 4 days.
2.) Jerry can do a job 3 days faster than Dennis Germino. If they work together, they can finish the
job in 3 3/5 days. How many days will it take Jerry alone or Dennis alone to do the job?
ca: Jerry=6 days
Dennis=9 days.
The equation has an analogy on the former one.
Solution:
Since Jerry is faster than Dennis, the equation will be like this...
J=D-3
Step 1: 3 3/5 or 18/5.
=3 x 18/5 ÷ 3-18/5
=54/5 ÷ 3/1-18/5
=54/5 ÷ 15/5-18/5
=54/5 ÷ 3/5
=54/5 x 5/3
=270/15
=18
Step 2: Don't forget to divide 18 by 2.
18 ÷ 2=9
Hence, Dennis can do the job in 9 days.
How about Jerry?
J=D-3
J=9-3
J=6
Thus, Jerry can do the job in 6 days.
