IN exercise of the powers conferred by subsection 45(2) of the Environmental Quality Act 1974 [Act 127],
the Minister makes the following rules:

Rule 1. Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Environmental Quality (Compounding of Offences)

(Amendment) Rules 1999.

Rule 2. Amendment of rule 2

The Environmental Quality (Compounding of Offences) Rules 1978 [P.U. (A) 281/78] are amended in
subrule 2(1) by substituting for the words "five hundred ringgit" the words "two thousand ringgit".
