from everyone, including: parents, teachers, family, friends, and in the

essence at sentient beings. Especially please allow us to dedicate our

acknowledgment of gratitude toward the following significance and

contributors:

First, we would like to thank GOD for his unconditional guidance and

wisdom as we make our research.

Second, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the chosen

students of the grade 10 of Universidad de Sta. Isabel Pili Campus for

participating on our survey for our Research Paper. We also want to give

thanks to the teachers who approved to conduct our survey even we

interrupted their class for a while.

Finally, we sincerely want to thank our parents, family, and friends who

motivate us and provide our financial support. The product of this

research paper would not be possible without all of them.

INTRODUCTION

This research is all about the Effects of cutting classes on the

academic performance of grade 10 students of Universidad de Sta. Isabel

Pili Campus. We will tackle on this research “What are the things we

should do to prevent cutting classes so that it will not affect the academic

performances of every students”. These are the problems: getting low

grades, laziness of the students every academic hours, students do what

they want especially going out their room without proper approval of the

teachers.

We all know that cutting classes are highly prohibited as well as it is

stated on the handbook/rules of our campus, but why students always

doing it? Why they are not afraid? What is their reasons why they commit

cutting classes? Our group conducted a survey among all grade 10

students of Universidad de Sta. Isabel Pili Campus. Cutting classes is a

common issue, even before it is the nature of some students but we

noticed that this issue can highly affect the students especially their

grades that might cause them to fail.

So that our main goal is to show the students and the teachers the

correlation of cutting classes about academic performances for them to do

ways to prevent this kind of issue.

STATE OF THE PROBLEM

We can’t deny that one of the issues happening at school is the

regular skipping of students in a particular subject during their class

hours. We think that every month there’s a possibility that 25% of the

Grade 10 students of Universidad de Sta. Isabel Pili Campus skip their

classes due to their own personal reasons. With this we decided to

conduct a research in terms of these matters that could help not just the

students who skip classes but as well as the teachers that could do an act

to avoid this kind of performances. So we hope that we knew what are

their reasons why they skip classes for in order to help them out of their

academic performances?

This are the questions we aim to answer by the help of students

1. What are the reasons why they skip classes?

2. What is the effect of the said issue to them?

3. How the cutting class affect their academic performances?

4. When it comes to their grades are they aware of it’s consequences?

However, due to a lack of federal research about the relation of

cutting classes about academic performances these claims remain

unsubstantiated.
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

This study focus only among the grade 10 students of Universidad de

Sta. Isabel Pili Campus about the correlation of cutting classes to their

academic performances. Out of 282 catholic students, 50 of them in both

sexes were used as our respondents in conducting the said survey.

This study was conducted on the year 2017-2018 and does not cover

if their parents know if they are skipping in a particular subject during

their academic hours. We limit this due to insufficient fund tends to

prevent the efficiency of our research in sourcing for the relevant

materials, literature or information and in the process of data collection

such as internet, questionnaire and interview. We will also simultaneously

engage in this study with other academic work. This consequently will cut

down on the time devoted for our research.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

We conducted this research in order to help those who are involve

here.

First the importance of our study to the parents is that when we have

prove that these are the cause why their children skip classes they might

be able to understand well what are their reasons and they will do some

adjustments because sometimes the problem is from their parents. In this

way they will tend to have more time with their children.

Aside from parents it can help teachers as well to avoid their students

skipping from their particular subject. When we’ve proved that one of

their reasons is in the teacher, this study might help the teachers to

change their strategy of teaching from boredom to a interesting one. In

this way the students might not skip classes if they understand well the

lesson in a enthralling way.

And the most important of all, this study will likely more help the

students who skip classes. If we have prove what are the effects of

cutting classes into their academic grades they might avoid skipping

classes then eventually they might understand the value of studying than
doing any stuff that could not help them. Another one is that when they

realized that what they are doing is not good for them they will be

responsible enough of this and they will have also fear of its

consequences but most of all they will have respect to their teachers as

well.
