I.

Introduction

EPP subject composed namely: Home Economics and Livelihood Education wherein
everything about basic home management and livelihood skills were taught to the
pupils in Grades IV-VI. Having an EPP subject in the new curriculum is a vital
foundation of the pupils in elementary, teaching them the basic skills like sewing,
cooking, gardening and so many others.

These things will be continued when they reach high school and to be able to
maximize their skills as the time passes by especially in k- 12 curriculum wherein it
is more focus on the skills of the pupils to be developed leading to them to have a
job immediately when they graduated in the senior high school. So with that, EPP
subject in elementary should be taught properly so as to cater the needs of the
pupils to learn the basic skills made them discovered what skills they want to focus
and to develop more during their high school years.

lives.

How can I provide slow readers the appropriate remedial activity without
compromising the quality time of instruction for other learner?

V. Recommendation

Focus on presenting lessons through significant types of teaching strategies. Have


students record their ideas, strategies, and questions. These could be a spiral
notebook that the students keep or a binder. Employ role playing, simulation, peer
tutoring and learning barkadas during activities. Provide enough visual and teaching
devices.

VI. Conclusion

Teaching EPP is an important vehicle for the pupils to learn the basic skills in Home
Economics and Livelihood Education. Through this subject, I think pupils will be
equipped primarily of the skills they have to acquire like learning the simple
procedure on how to cook, sew. With these, we can say that there’s a vital role in
making the curriculum more comprehensive than before.
