Entities Description

 Blood sampling:

Blood sampling includes the “typical” blood group of the donor/recipient.

In this type of data base, it consists the information (Name, Contact

Number, Age, any previous disease or medication, date of birth).

 Cross match results:

Cross match result consists of checking the blood sample of with respect of

Donor and recipient. If the result is Positive blood transformation is

possible otherwise not and blood level of the donor/accepter or any

another possible disease.

 Branches:

A blood bank has branches at various locations and branch

Codes. It includes the data of blood transformations, Donors/recipients

Information (Name, Contact Number, Age, any previous disease or

Medication). Storage capacity of blood bags.

 Employees:

Employees offer the capability for a direct contact between the donor and

Recipient. A blood bank has Name, Contact Information, Gender, Payrolls,

Residence Addresses, Account numbers (if any), Working hours details, any

specialization for example in Blood Sampling or screening of their employs

which includes Staff and Faculty.


 Hospitals:

Hospitals usually blood banks are in hospitals. Hospital entity can be

categorized into Children hospital and General Hospital. In Children

Hospital blood bank Blood sampling would be for “New born”, or up to an

age limit. In a general Hospital blood bank, it is divided into Gender.

 Doctors:

Doctors information in a blood bank consists of “Doctors id”,

“Contact Information”, “Email ids”, “Specialization”, “Working time”.

 Patient:

Patient of a blood bank is a host of the donor blood which includes ‘the

Cross matching’, ‘Contact information’, ‘date of birth’, ‘Disease name and its

Cause’, ‘Gender of the patient’.

 Accepter:

Accepter accepts the blood transformation. This includes ‘Cross matching’

‘Contact information’, Name, Data collected from the blood bank registers

included full name, hospital number, component type, number of units of

component, recipient blood group, donor blood group, date of issue of

component and blood bank identification number for each transfusion

recipient, date of birth.

 Donor:

Information includes donor details (gender, name, address, date of

birth and telephone number), donation details and test result details.
 Financial Sponsor:

Financial sponsor includes ‘Name of the Company’, ‘their sponsorship’,

‘Monetary/Surgical instruments’, ‘Duration of sponsorship’.

 Data base manager:

Data base manager holds the complete information including their ids of

‘Employs’, ‘patients’, ‘branch record’, ‘pay rolls’, ‘timing of staff members’,

’Donor/recipient’.

 Registration:

Before each donor donates his blood, he is required to

register himself as a donor with the receptionist who works at the Blood

Bank. The receptionist is identified by employee id, name, address and

phone number. The Blood Banks receives orders for blood from many

hospitals for emergency purposes and other surgical requirements and

each blood bank issues the same of required blood type.

 Orders :

Orders includes (gender, name, address, date of birth and telephone

number) of the donor/recipient and time of delivery of blood/location.

 Volunteers:

Volunteer as blood donors have (gender, name, address, date of birth and

Telephone number). Volunteers can be from school, college, university,

office or any field of life. Volunteers should know the location for donating.

Pick and drop service can be provided to volunteers. NGOs have volunteers.

 Events :

includes Hosting team information, (gender, name, address, date of

birth and telephone number) of the donor/recipient and time of delivery of


blood/location. Volunteers take part in such events hence their (gender,

name, address, date of birth and telephone number includes.

 Inventory:

holds the complete Purchase of items for blood transfusions

(Price, Date of purchase, item, payment, date of expiry, bought from

Company A/B/C).

 Bills:

Bills of blood bank consists of branch code and its Electricity, Gas,

water consumption, their average, and their services (pick and drop for

blood donors etc).

 Budget:

Budget of a blood bank holds information about inventory, Services, and

free blood transfusions. The annual or monthly, weekly can be categorized

of any branch.

 Departments:

It holds the complete information of departments (i.e. HR , Accounts ,etc.).

Scenario
A foundation has a lot of blood bank branches, it has many trust hospitals on panel where the
foundation gave donation of blood ,it also include blood bank in trust hospitals .If somebody wants
to give donation of blood he or she must be registered by getting vaccination certificate from
registered PMDC Doctor of viral diseases .In the case of emergency foundation also provide blood
on self-finance because to meet requirements of budgets that includes inventory ,salaries of staff
and other bills .if anyone want donation , so he or she have to pay the bill of blood bag and blood
test container and while the donor have the exemption of these even cross matching fees is free for
their blood sample. Foundation has built a hospital for thalassemia patients. A woman is pregnant
and in labor room and she will deliver a baby today , she require 4 bags of blood immediately .the
trust hospital is on panel of foundation ,so doctors prescribed family to bring 4 bags of blood for C
section surgery but unfortunately they only 1 bottle is present in blood bank which is delivered to
because the required blood is of rare kind call AB-,after cross matching the result is positive .Family
immediately contact with different branches of blood foundation ,they got a bag of blood from
universal donor (O-) from other branch with positive cross matching result ,they were asked to go
the blood donation camp which is held in a university ,they had given contact number of volunteer
,successfully they find a blood bag from university and successfully cross match but they still have to
find one more blood bag for surgery

One person from their family travel from countryside to donate bag of blood but unfortunately
Negative result is found after registration because he has viral disease that is conform by radiologist
so, another bag of blood is arranged to self-finance by submitting fee to accounts office, so family
became financial donor of foundation. After successful surgery baby boy is born ,which is diagnosed
with thalassemia .family would prescribed by doctor to regular visits of thalassemia hospital of
foundations ,they were also asked to complaint cell which is monitored by the supervision of HR
department if any staff became uncooperative with the family during the treatment of their child
which is accused of thalassemia , it also include anti-corruption department if some receptionist
want some bribe from family for giving them blood for their child.
