Absorption -Absorption, in wave motion, the transfer of the energy of a wave to

matter as the wave passes through it. alternating currents -an electric current
that reverses its direction many times a second at regular intervals, typically used
in power supplies.
Amplitude -is the vertical distance between a peak or a valley and the equilibrium
point. conduction -the process by which heat or electricity is directly transmitted
through a substance when there is a difference of temperature.
convection -the movement caused within a fluid by the tendency of hotter and
therefore less dense material to rise, and colder, denser material to sink under
the influence of gravity. convection current -a current in a fluid that results from
convection.
crest -is a point on a surface wave where the displacement of the medium is at a
maximum. diffraction -the process by which a beam of light or other system of
waves is spread out as a result of passing through a narrow aperture or across an
edge.
direct current -an electric current flowing in one direction only.
electric conductor -An object that allows electricity to flow in one or more
directions.
electric current -The flow of electric charge.
electric discharge - is the release and transmission of electricity in an applied
electric field through a medium such as a gas.
electric insulator -An object where in very little electric current will flow through
it.
electric resistance -a measure of its opposition to the flow of electric current.
electromagnetic wave -Waves that travel through a vacuum.
equilibrium -a state in which opposing forces or influences are balanced
frequency - is the number of waves that pass a fixed point in a given amount of
time
generator - a device that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy.
Grounding -process of connecting electric circuits to the ground, to release
electricity
Heat -heat is the transfer of energy to or from a thermodynamic system
ice point -it is the temperature when water freezes
light -It is the only visible wavelength in the electromagnetic spectrum
loudness -The loudness of the sound wave in volume
lunar eclipse -occurs when the Moon passes directly behind Earth and into its
shadow.
magnitude - is a number that characterizes the relative size of an earthquake.
- a numerical value with units
mechanical wave -Waves that need a medium in order to travel. motion -the
action or process of moving or being moved.
Node - is a point along a standing wave where the wave has minimum amplitude.
parallel circuit -is a closed circuit in which the current divides into two or more
paths before recombining to complete the circuit.
penumbra -the partially shaded outer region of the shadow
pitch -Highness or lowness of sound, depends
Polarized -it is the restriction of vibrations.
Radiation -emission of high energy electromagnetic
Reference point -It is used to measure how fast and how far the object has gone
Reflection - is when light bounces off an object. If the surface is smooth and shiny,
like glass, water or polished metal, the light will reflect at the same angle as it hit
the surface.
Refraction -It is when light bends when changes speed
