1 The Carriage rates of materials given in this chapter include loading, unloading and cost of stacking. The carriage rate includes Contractor's profit also.
2 The rates of carriage of materials shall be payable for the net quantity arrived at after deduction of voids as per MoRTH. Specifications para 514.5 and Table 500.28

SUPPLY & CARRIAGE OF MATERIALS
Note :-
(i) The rates are inclusive of all taxes, royalty, sales tax etc. at source including cost of stacking at site
of work with all leads except that item where specifically mentioned.
(ii) Name and location of quarry is necessarily to be mentioned in relevant items for estimation purpose
only.
(iii) The rates for collection of materials include:-

Removal of existing cement concrete wearing coat manually or with the help of jack hammers
including its disposal within a lead of 1000 metres, complete as per technical specification without
causing any detrimental effect to any part of the bridge structure.
b) Removal of over burden and unsuitable material etc.

c) Dewatering of quarry, if necessary.

(iv) The contractor is required to keep at quarry site, one set of standard IS sieves and allied testing
equipments for gradation of aggregate as per Standard MoRTH Specifications.

(v) The actual volume of the aggregates to be paid shall be computed after deduction. The specified
percentage in MoRTH specification table 500-28 from the volume computed by stack measurement
to be allowed for bulking (MoRTH specification clause 514.5)

Note :
Unless otherwise stated, the rates include sorting and disposal of unserviceable material and
1 stacking of serviceable material with a lead of 100 meters. Extra leads if required can be paid as per
Chaptrer R-1
The rates of items of dismantling given in this chapter are for work done in foundation upto a depth of
2 1.50 metre below ground level and also upto a height of 1.50 metre above ground level. For
additional height/depth,the extra rate payable shall be as under:
a) Rs. 5.00 per cum in the rate of item No. R-2/7.1.1 to R-2/ 7.3.5 for work in foundation beyond 1.50
metre below ground level for every additional depth of 1.50 metre or part thereof.

b) Rs. 10.00 per cum in the rate of item nos. R-2/7.1.1 to R-2/7.3.5 for work in superstructure upto a
height of 4.0 metre or part thereof from/above 1.50 metre from Ground/Bed Level.
Removal of existing cement concrete wearing coat manually or with the help of jack hammers
including its disposal within a lead of 1000 metres, complete as per technical specification without
causing any detrimental effect to any part of the bridge structure.
d) All concrete pavements, base courses in carriageway and shoulders designated for removal, shall
be broken to pieces whose volume does not exceed 0.02 cum.
Unless otherwise specified the rates of this chapter include tools and plants and scaffolding required
for items of dismantling.
Providing and laying granular sub-base material having P.I.not more than 6, including compacted
thickness and consolidation by 8-10 tonne power roller at OMC to achieve desired density to required
3 camber and grade including cost of water and hire charges of machinery, including T&P upto 20 Km
lead of material from quarry (compacted thickness to be measured).
All wood obtained from the tree shall be the property of the Government and shall be deposited at
4 PWD store (at site) as per the direction of the Engineer-In-Charge.

Notes :-
1 Converting lift in to horizontal lead for obtaining the combnined lead.

a) List shall be measured from the centre of gravity of the excavatged earth to that of the placed
earth. This shall constitute the mean lift for the section.
b) For converting lift to lead, lift upto 4.0 metre shall be multiplied by 10 and above 4.0 metre upto
6.0 metre, it will be squared and multiplied by 3.25 beyond 6.0 metre it will be multiplied by 20.

c) No cross lead whatsoever shall be measured for payment.

2 Unless otherwise stated in the item, the rates of this chapter do not include pumping/bailing out
water of pond caused by springs, subsoil water, canal, river seepage and broken water mains or
drains. However, pumping/bailing out rain water collected in foundation/borrow pit/depression shall
not be paid for extra.

3 The classification of excavation shall be decided by the Engineer and his decision shall be final and
binding. The intermediate classification, if any, like Pick and Jumper (P.J.)/jumper and Blasting
(J.B./Pick, jumper and Blasitng (P.J.B.) etc. shall be paid proportionately.

4 Grading as per MoRTH specification : Table 400-1, 400-2 with CBR value not less than 25.

5 The rates for recently deposited earthwork after excavation, will be 70% rates for earthwork in
excavation. Earthwork, deposited before monsoon which has had full monsoon on it will be
considered as a normal earthowrk in excavation.
