homework assignment: May 17, 2018)

Exercise 1
Using the Laplace transforms, solve the following equations:

(1)ẏ + 4y = e4t , y(0) = 2

(2)ÿ + 3y = cos(t), y(0) = 0, ẏ(0) = 0

Z t
(3)f (t) − (t − τ )f (τ )dτ = t
0
Z t
(4)ẏ(t) = t + y(τ )dτ ; y(0) = 0
0

Exercise 2
A) Find the amperage(or current) i(t) in the series electrical circuit LRC
when L = 0.1H, R = 2Ω, C = 0.1F , i(0) = 0; the Voltage applied to this
circuit is E(t) = 2V
B) Using the Laplace transforms, solve the following equations:

(1)ẏ + 4y = e4t , y(0) = 2

(2)ÿ + 3y = cos(t), y(0) = 0, ẏ(0) = 0

 ẍ − ẏ = −t + 1
 − x + 2ẏ = 4et

(3) x(0) = 0
ẋ(0) = 1

y(0) = 0

(4) The electric circuit is described by the next system of equations :

L1 I˙1 + R1 (I1 − I2 ) = v(t)

L2 I˙2 + R2 I2 + R1 (I2 − I1 ) = 0

Find I1 (t) and I2 (t) when the interruptor is closed, if L1 = L2 = 1 Henry,

R1 = 1Ω, R2 = 2Ω y v(t) = 1V . Suppose that I1 (0) = I2 (0) = 0.
