Detailed Lesson Plan in English 8

Content Standard: The learner demonstrates concrete understanding of the prosodic features of
speech, study and research skills, making sense of unfamiliar words, using non-linear texts to show
relationships between ideas through oral literatures of selected Afro-Asian countries and informative
texts to familiarize oneself with the tradition and values that will guide him/her in knowing his/her
identity as Asian.
Performance Standard: The learner presents an informative and creative exhibit to show the
different traditions and values of selected Afro-Asian countries.
Learning Competencies: Discover literature as a means of understanding the human being and the
force/s he has to contend with.

I. Learning Objectives:
The students must be able to:
 Identify the elements of the story.
 Compose a poem, song, acronym and slogan relaying the message of the story.
 Realize and appreciate the importance of respect and love of family through the
story.

II. Subject Matter:


 Topic: The Two Brothers (Egyptian Folktale)

Exposition: There were two brothers Anpu


and Bata, who live together until the elder

Rising Action: Anpu’s wife got jealous of Bata

Acacia. The God rewarded his innocence and
goodness by giving him wife more beautiful
than any other women.
