Subject:- Replacing APS2 Pressure sensors

Background:-

There has recently been a significant increase in APS2 pressure sensor faults.
Please follow the time and action plan in FQIT 322327.

Fault codes commonly found are as follows;

 APS2 3014658 Pressure sensor

 APS2 2879724 Pressure sensor
 APS2 4195330 Front service brake circuit
 APS2 4195337 Front service brake circuit
 APS2 4129801 Rear service brake circuit
 APS2 4064265 Park brake and trailer brake circuit
 APS2 4260873 Powertrain circuit

We have had a number of cases where

the protective cover on the new spare
parts sensor hasn’t been removed after
installation. On fitment of the APS2
control unit, the technician is faced with
communication problems between the
sensors and ECU.

On further investigation the protective

cap that should have been removed
had damaged the PCB on the control
unit.

This leads to an expensive repair and

unnecessary vehicle downtime.
Incorrect Installation

Work Description:-

Always replace all of the sensors in repair kit 2404967, see work description in Multi,
10:25 Supply Circuit – APS Air processing system – Renewal pressure sensors.

Once the new sensors have been replaced, remove the protective cap before fitting
APS2 control unit.

Please don’t handle the tiny springs on the pressure sensor as it is these springs that
make contact with the APS2 ECU. Damage to the springs will result in similar fault
codes as first experienced.

After fitment and reassembly of the APS2 unit please replace the desiccant canister
and calibrate the air gauges in APS2 using SDP3.

Correct Installation
