The internet is tolled as a death knell for families

Good morning ladies and gentlemen.

The Internet is a means of connecting a computer to any other computer anywhere in the world .
Internet has succeeded in making our world a much smaller and closer community .Today my
topic being how the internet is tolled as a death knell for families I tend to disagree on that matter
.Let me begin by just giving you a brief idea on many of the uses of the internet.

First and most importantly communication : The internet gives us the option of communicating with
the globe in a fraction of a second where as could you imagine still using a telegram which would
take weeks to reach the person you wanted to communicate to ? Gone are the days when
somebody writes a letter to their loved ones who lives in a distant place to know how they are doing
and then waits for ages for them to revert back. But now you could simply just email them and they
could reply within the matter of seconds. In this case can’t we say that we could easily connect with
family all around the world hassle free.

Secondly internet of things: The things that are using the internet to make connections and
responds to other devices, people and things is known the IoT. The IoT helps parents keep security
and guidance over their kids when they probably stay or work away from their family.

Social media helps us connect with extended family around the world and keep in touch with them .

The internet helps a lot of people work from home, especially working mothers with toddlers find
this option particularly useful.

A lot of entertainment sites like Netflix, Hulu and amazon prime have movies that families can watch
together and a movie night at home with your family can be really fun. It also contributes to your
family time together.

But really many of the problems that the internet supposedly is the reason of today is actually
because there is no proper adult supervision. They say that the internet actually breaks up our
families but to be frank can you even imagine how many families would not have contact with each
other if not for the internet ? There is even a mobile app that helps you track your family wherever
they go. There are so many websites through which people can locate their families that had lost
contact with them. There are a great apps which keep a track of everyone’s schedules, their to do list
and all of that so they can figure out what time they could keep aside for family. Parents should
really indoctrinate their children and teach them to keep time aside for their family. Therefore I
conclude to say that the internet as it is isn’t the death knell of families but the lack of discipline is.
