You are being invited to take part in a research study to explore your views on
THE INFLUENCE OF FACEBOOK ON COSMETICS BRANDS PERCEPTION …. By
listening to your opinion we expect to understand your idea of how Facebook
has an impact on your brand perception towards cosmetics brands. The details
of this study are below, please ready carefully so that you can make an informed
decision about participating in it.

Your participation in our research project is entirely voluntary. You may refuse
taking part or withdraw at any time. You do not need to give a reason or
explanation for this.

If you decide to take part in the study you will be given this information sheet to
keep and be asked to sign two copies of the statement of informed consent
below. One of the copies is for you to keep and one copy will be retained by the
researchers.

Running the study: This study is being run by Thai Phuong Ngan Nguyen

The purpose of the study: The purpose of this project is three-fold.


 Firstly, to understand the influence of social media, particularly Facebook
as a marketing tool on enhancing brand perception employing Lush
cosmetic retailer as a case study.
 Secondly, to assess What extent reference groups play a part in the process
of making up decision of consumer in terms of cosmetics
 Thirdly, to test whether there is any relationship between the availability of
some cosmetics brands on Facebook and the purchase decision of
consumers.
What the study involves and what you are being asked to do: This study
involves the researcher(s) interacting with you in a group and individual setting.
With your consent, we also ask you to respond to the questionnaire in the
interview

Benefits from participating in the study: Research is designed to benefit the


deeper understanding of Facebook influence on brand perception. Participant
will also be given to understand more about their customer behaviour and
customer perception which are influenced by Facebook.

Risks/Disadvantages from participating in the study: There are no known or


anticipated risks associated with participating in the study.

Your privacy: Your name and any other identifying information will be changed
so you will not be identified in any report, publication or presentation of the
study or its results. Only with your consent will the researchers have access to
your email address. If you agree to this it will be stored securely and only
accessible to the researchers. It will only be used for the purpose of contacting
you again for further research.

Our conversations may be audio recorded for analysis. If any segments of


recording are used in analysis they will not reveal your name or other identifying
information. No one other than the researcher(s) will have access to the audio
recording and they will be stored securely.

Results of the study: The observations (noted and recordings) will be analysed
and results may be used in reports, publication, presentations and
conferences/events.
