JOB DESIGNATION: ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (TESTING AND COMMISSIONING)

PROJECT DETAILS:
POWER GENERATION UNIT RETIREMENT PROJECT (PGUR)
Replacing the old Transformers and modification of its incomers and outgoing feeders for 33kv GIS
and 11kv AIS and additionally adding Capacitor Bank and Statcom for power upgradation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Testing and commissioning of all equipment in AIS system.

 Testing of Power Transformer ( Insulation Resistance Test, Vector group, Transformer
Ratio Test, Tap changer operation, Polarity Test, Cooler Control Panel functional checks,
Thermo Meter calibration, Oil bdv Test, Tan Delta Test, Testing Breather and Silica gel, CT
Testing, Winding Resistance ).
 Testing of current transformer, voltage transformer, circuit breaker and Switchgear.
 Testing and commissioning of control & relay panel for Generator, Transformer, and Bus –
Transfer, Line feeder and Bus coupler.
 Testing of protective relays such as earth fault, over current, motor protection and under
voltage relays.
 Testing of Power Cables and Control Cables.
 High voltage test for 6.6 KV, 11 KV, and 33 KV HT Cables & Bus bar.
  Scheme & operational checking for 415 V LVAC.
 Test report preparation and documentation.
 Carrying out Construction Activities at various Inspection Stages like Pre-Installation,
Installation & Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning, Final Inspection for various electrical
equipment's.
 Small Power Distribution Board, HV/MV/LV Switch Gears
(132KV,66KV,33KV,6.6KV,415V) - Torquing, Ductor Testing, IR, Hi-pot of its Bus Bar.
 Earthing System, UPS System, Lighting System (Illumination Test), Heat Tracing system,
Communication System (CCTV & PAGA), Fire & Gas, SCMS and HVAC System.
 Electrical Motor (IR , Polarization Index , RTD Testing , Motor Differential Protection ,
Winding Resistance & Solo Run Test).
 Maintenance of high voltage & low voltage switch gears and its circuit –Breakers such as
SF6 circuit breakers, Vacuum circuit breaker/Contactor and air circuit breaker.
 Good knowledge in schematic and single line drawings read and Trace out.
 Knowledge about plant shut down jobs like Tie-In procedure, Bus bar shut down jobs,
Breaker service, UPS jobs.
 Sorting and clearing out all the technical issues and punch list.
 Liaising with vendors and other clients and company personnel to solve non-compliance
related to electrical components and any required corrective actions.
 Observing and confirming installation of electrical equipments and components is in
accordance with client and company requirements and specifications and industry standards.
 OLTC Parallel operation checks.
 CT Primary injection Testing and core identification for all core and phases.
 Operational and functional checks for all AIS electrical equipment such as Vacuum CB,
Isolators, Earth switch and Limit switch and Lightning arrestors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Supervise Construction and installation works of 110kV Transmission lines.

 Supervise erection of Substation equipment and report the progress to superiors.
 Issuing permit on EHT and HT lines.
 Assisting the Station Engineer in testing of Sub-station equipment like Circuit Breakers,
CTs, PTs, Power Transformers, Interlock schemes, etc. (I have hands on experience in field
testing of Power Transformers, CTs, PTs and Circuit Breakers. Specialized in wiring of
control panels and oil filtration of transformers).
 Experienced in trouble shooting of Electrical control circuit.

BHEL make). CT, PT etc.
 Arrangement of operation and Contingency breakdown management of sub-station.
 Preparation of Estimates, work orders, bills and other registers & data.
 Drafting daily maintenance records, maintenance of stocks and registers and other technical
registers and data..
 Read and understand drawings in substation.
