 INTRODUCTION

This decade has witnessed the drastic evolution of Middle East’s

panorama. We saw the rise of skylines, airports and massive tourist
developments across the region. The influx of residents has led to the
rapid development in cities along with Sheikh Zayed’s vision to green
the desert becoming a reality. The government understands the need
to focus on sustainable and green development. Efforts to conscious
reduction of carbon footprint is spearheaded by government entities.

The 7th edition of the Middle East Smart Landscape Summit 2019 will be
held on 18th and 19th March 2019 in Dubai. Bringing together the
region’s leading landscape designers and architects, the summit will
discuss in-depth the sustainability focused change of landscape
strategies for urban development in the region. The agenda will
overlook the new opportunities for landscape architects to pursue the
vision of creating sustainable green cities in the region.
