WORD SEARCH – AT SCHOOL

I love my school! It’s awesome! My mother takes me to school at half past six in the morning and she
picks me up at twenty past eleven on the weekdays. My favorite days are on Tuesday and Thursday,
because I have English classes and I learn a lot with my teacher. One day, I will go to United States!
It’s my dream to meet the Statue of Liberty! She’s beautiful and powerful. I want to learn a lot of
new words being abroad! However, I should know about things which surround me here at
school.

LABOR DAY
Labor Day in the United States of America is a public holiday celebrated on the first Monday in September. It honors
the American labor movement and the contributions that workers have made to the development, growth, endurance,
strength, security, prosperity, productivity, laws, sustainability, persistence, structure, and well-being of the country. It is
the Monday of the long weekend known as Labor Day Weekend. It is recognized as a federal holiday. It is said you
shouldn’t wear “White” after Labor Day in the United States. In fact, not everyone follows this “silly” rule. This tendency
is about the customs of an old society and its social levels. Believe me, it does not make any sense. Many people
nowadays wear white because Labor day marks the end of summer, so it makes sense to wear light clothes.

e bem-estar do país.
branco porque o Dia do Trabalho marca o fim do verão, então faz sentido usar roupas leves.

SAVING PRIVATE RYAN

T he story begins on June 6, 1944 in Normandy at Omaha Beach. Captain John Miller (Tom Hanks) and his men land on a
beach where the battle rages. The American soldiers are massacred on the Norman beaches and only survive those who
take shelter of a dune. But impossible to go further. With the aid of Bangalore torpedoes, the American units cross the
various obstacles and eliminate the last German defenders. The losses are appalling.

In England, three of the four brothers of the Ryan family died in battle. Captain Miller, accompanied for the occasion by
a small elite group of eight men, sets off in search of this Ryan who is still alive. But the soldiers who accompany him begin to
doubt the mission and ask themselves questions. But doubt fades when, in a ruined Norman village, one of the rank-and-file
soldiers is killed by a German sniper.

It was only later, by chance, that Miller found Ryan. The latter is responsible for monitoring a very important bridge over
the Merderet.

The captain announces that he has lost his three brothers and that he has to go home, but Ryan does not want to abandon
his friends who defended this bridge as much as he did. Miller decides to stay a little with Ryan and wait for the American
reinforcements. But he knows that the Germans will attack before the arrival of these reinforcements. Then he decides to fortify
the city in view of the enemy attack.

Oi!
Eu amo ela! Ela só retornará a
sua casa em setembro. Estou ansioso para vê-la!
