Objective:
To develop a communication system that informs the travelers regarding the traffic
situation that is existing enroute to their destinations so that they can manage to
reach the destination by identifying the route which is least dense with traffic.
Methodology:
This would require an analyzer of Traffic Density at all critical point of roads in
the city, preferably a video recorder which would then send the signals to a server
where it would be processed to achieve a suitable output which can be further sent
to all the people who are connected with the network.
The users of the network will be able to receive the information of the density of
traffic enroute to their destination there by will be able to chose a suitable route
suggested by the system there by helping to improve traffic conditions.
- Input System
- Processing System
- Output System
Input System being the Video Transmitter at critical locations in the City, will be
required to acquire the data of density of vehicles at that point, their speed. This
would provide the data of traffic status at the location. This is later related to the
signals from the previous such Input Units. The Signals are sent to the processing
unit to develop a Flow Model of traffic at every instant.
Processing unit takes Multipoint Input Data which is processed to develop a traffic
flow model in the Routes available in the City. This is further integrated with the
map available with the Device that is available with the user.
Output System is a device that provides the traffic data in a readable format to the
general user. The system is to be configured such that there exists an information
transfer from the Processing Unit to the Device. For convenience sake we would
be calling the System as a GPS – Traffic Manager. This is to be devised similar to
a GPS System which indicates the current position of the user in a city mapped in
the GPS System and the route that is being taken to reach the destination.
