LESSON PLAN
UNIT 1: From me to you
1. Description of the class
This is the class of 20 students in an English Center. They are from twelve to fifteen years old and they are at Pre-
Intermediate level. They study English for half an hour, twice a week (Saturday & Sunday). There are 12 girls and 8 boys in
the class. The duration of this course is 5 months, including 60 classes (average a Unit is divided into 4 classes). The room
is comfortable with 11 desks and 21 chairs for both T and 20 Ss. There are board, mark pens, dusters, lights, fans, speakers,
computer and projector. The main textbook and handouts are deliveried to learners on the first day.

3. Goals of the course
- Use preposition to describe the places of something in their house, their class
- Usepast tense and present perfect tense in making sentences
- Use comparative and superlative adjective

- Use modal verbs can/could/may to ask for help
- Pronounce –ed endings
- Stress the important words in a sentence
- Recognize consonant groups
Lesson background:
1. The previous lesson: Unit 1: From me to you - students studied speaking and writing about the types of
communication.
2. Today’s lesson: Unit 1: From me to you (cont) - Use preposition in, on, behind, in front of, and next to make
conversation, fill in blanks, make sentence.
3. The next lesson: Unit 2: Who were they? - students will study the form and the usage of past tense. They will study
some new words about characteristic, appearance to describe a person.
4. The activities: individual,pair work, whole class

3. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to
a. Improve Speaking skill
- Use prepositions of place IN/ON/ BEHIND/ IN FRONT/ NEXT TO to make and answer the questions with their
classmates
- Distinguish the sound/b/ and/p/ in pronunciation
b. Improve integrated skills
- Reading skill: learn 22 vocabularies about rooms and furniture around the house

Kitchen: a stove, a fridge, a sink, a cupboard, a bowl, a plate
Bedroom: a hanger, a wardrobe, a pillow, a blanket
Bathroom: a bar of soap, a towel, a tub, a tab
- Listening and writing skill: The teacher can check the writing and listening ability of the students. The teacher can
check as if the students have studied the vocabularies at home or not. The teacher can check the grammar of the students
by make them write some sentences to describe the positions of some furniture in their house.

4. Methodology:
Students have to communicate in the target language. Students have to think in the target language as soon as possible.
Therefore they have to make their own questions for the other classmates to answer as well. Students have to work in
pair to make questions about the position of some things in the class.Automatic reflex of Ss is created and improved in
every lesson. The main aim is to help S have spontaneous conversations in real situations. Moreover, the students have
to study to distinguish /b/ and /p/ is this lesson. All the new words and grammar are inductively taught. This is the
reason why the Direct Method is chosen.
