Piece no.1 (WCT) Some musical ideas are effective and offer initial potential though the musical understanding
is clearly not secure and at times there is little appropriate control of harmony and tonality. There is an attempt to
include imitation of ideas, but the working is not refined and the outcome lacks structural and stylistic conviction.
It is considered to be an adequate response to the brief.

Piece no.2 (Free) This piece includes some effective ideas which are structured adequately. The content
demonstrates stylistic awareness, are structured adequately and the response to the brief shows understanding.
There is some evidence that the musical elements have been combined to produce a coherent piece, but the
result lacks exploration and development of the initial material, with over-reliance on repetition as a means to
extend ideas. Rather a sudden conclusion to the piece!
