ReadyTech User Guide

Using the ReadyTech Training Environment
Before you begin your training we strongly recommend that you view the Getting Started video in the Lobby of your
ReadyTech Self-Paced Training Portal.
Your Training Portal contains a Lab that will host a Windows virtual machine in which you have access to Blue
Prism. The Lab will take about 15 minutes to create once you’ve activated your code. Once it is activated you will
be invited to enter a password for the Lab. We would recommend that you don’t do this as Blue Prism will not be
able to access the Lab should you require training support.
Once inside the Lab you will need to login to Windows. Please use the following credentials:
Lab Username: Student
Lab Password: Blu3Pr1sm
Once logged into Windows, you can click the Blue Prism icon on the desktop and use the following credentials to
access Blue Prism:
ID: admin
Password: admin
Managing your time.
You have 40 hours to complete the Foundation course over a 14-day period from the time you first activate the
Lab. Please plan your time accordingly. For a more productive learning experience please set aside uninterrupted
time to take your training. We would recommend a minimum of five hours per day.
If you a being mentored by a Blue Prism Partner organization or a colleague your mentor will wish to review your
Consolidation Exercise. Please synchronize this with your mentor and allow enough time for this review to take
place and for you to action any required amends.
Always suspend your Lab when have finished training

Foundation Training
The Materials tab in your Training Portal will provide access to the Foundation Training Course documentation. This
is the guide that you must follow to complete your Foundation Training. Your progress through the document will
be tracked so you can pick up where you left off when resuming your training.
For convenience and ease of use we recommend that you detach the training document window via the Doc menu.

We also recommend that you set the desktop to Full Screen using the Desktop menu option.

The training makes use of a simple Order System that you use to create your first Blue Prism solution. The
credentials for the Order System are:
ID: bp
Password: password

Exporting a Blue Prism Release

If your mentor cannot get access to your environment to review your Consolidation Exercise you can export to your
local machine a Blue Prism Release that you can email to your mentor for review. The training document will
explain how to create a Blue Prism Release (Chapter 10.11) and save it within your Training Portal. Please make
sure your release includes your Consolidation exercise process, object and Work Queue.
To export this release, you will need to use the ReadyTech clipboard.
1. Locate the release file in your Training Portal

2. Double-click the file to open it in Notepad and then press CTRL +A to select all the text within the file and
then CTRL +C to copy the text to the remote clipboard.

3. Select the Clipboard from the Viewer toolbar

(If the Viewer toolbar is not visible it can be enabled from the Desktop menu option.)

4. The Clipboard will show the file text

5. Place your cursor in the text and then press CTRL +A to select all the text within the file and then CTRL +C
to copy the text to your local clipboard.

6. On you local machine open Notepad and then paste (CTRL +V) the release text.

7. Save the file as your_file_name_here.bprelease and then it can be imported into another instance of Blue
Prism. You can email this file to your mentor for review.
