The Ama University Online Education Learing management system also known as LMS Serves as the

stduents gateway to learning the LMS contains all course materials including video lectures course
modules powerpoint and assesments these can be accessed through.
Once you logged in you will be directed to the home page which is the LMS Dashbord.

Main menu

The LMS dashboard functions to remember it has main menu which consists of tabs that will give you
acces to resources that could help jumpstart your knowledge on online learning such as the student
handbook the LMS manual and the “post a student concern” bar fro specific inquires.

On top is the administration and private files followed by my latest badges calendar and upcoming
events tabs.

Main Dashbord

This is where you can view all of your enrolled courses under “My Courses.” Each course comes with
athumbnail and a course description that will give you an overview of what the course will contain.

Has a dropdown menu which consist of shortcut to the calenda messeges badges private files and e-
portfolio.

Student Handbook

Student handbook contains relevant information about AMA University Onlines Education such as the
admission requirements as well as the existing academic policies.

ePortfolio

the eportfolio is a fully featured electronic portfolio created for the online learning community. This is
where you can share your achievements and developments and engage in a discussion with other
students.

Student Manual

The student manual helps you learn more about the LMS and its functions. This will give you an idea on
how to use the LMS for easy online learning,
THE MAIN MENU

We have made things easy for you to forward your concerns to the specific groups in AMA OEd using
freshdesk just follow this steps;

Go to “post a student concern” on your LMS menu or to the form directly below you LMS when you
access a subject.

Fill out the form with the required details such as your email address full name course and subj. of
concern.

Subjects of concern could be one of the following:

ACADEMIC CONCERNS mainly include issues and concerns related to your enrolled subjects such as
inquires on lessons and assesments CISCO seat tokens, degree shifting , dropping and or withdrawal of
subj. and other relevant problems.

CREDITING AND TOR/TCG CONCERNS cater to questions on evaluation and subjects crediting as well as
request for TOR/TCG.

STUDENT SUPPORT CONCERNS are for request of activation / reactivation of subjects extension removal
exam certificate of enrolment statement of account payment balance and official receipt.

TECHNICAL CONCERNS are for issues related to technical problems such as access to lessons/quizzes
LMS/Portal ebooks and broken links.

GENERAL ADMISSIONS will assist you in general inquires regarding AMA UNIVERSITY Online Education
From registration admission and enrolment.

EVALUATION CONCERNS are for any questions regarding the evaluation of your credentials.
Each subject concern contains a specific subject. This specification allows the people behind the team
immediately check on your problems.

In the space provided below the email address put in a messege of briefly explain the situation you are
in as a reason for consultation to the concerned group. Attach screenshots of your problems
/clarifications if applicable and if necessary.

Lastly click on the sub,it button at the end of the form and wait for the reply within 24hrs or less.

EDITING YOUR PROFILE

To edit your profile click on your name at the end of the main menu and select “EDIT PROFILE” this is
where you can make changes on your profile. Note that your name and email address are not subject to
changes.

Now that you have explored the home page it is time to start lerning your lessons. Under my courses
simply click the title of subj. you prefer studying first.

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM clicking this will connect you to the BIG blue button.

- To enter virtual classroom you must click the join session button.

Clicking any of the courses will atke you to an e-classroom, where you will see the entire course laid out
for you. The completion of the course is sequential as activity completion is enabled. This is simply
means if you do not meet the prerequisites. You must accomplish and view the previous items in the
subj. before proceeding to the next one. The first thing you will see once you access a course is its
banner. Underneath the banner arelinks to the course introduction and syllabus, virtual classroom and
news forum.
The BIG BLUE BUTTON will served as your virtual classroom where you will join other students in real
time classes conducted by the mentor. The classes can also be recorded for playback.

You can activate the listen only option or microphone option. The professor may also require you to
open your webcam. Just click on the webcam button to do so. There is also a chatbox on the right side of
the virtual classroom window to further communicate with your professor.

You can also watch live session again by clicking the all recordings button below the virtual classroom.

Note: these virtual classes are scheduled. This means that the availability of this feature depends on the
mentors assigned to the subject. Whether or not they would like to conduct a virtual class.

COURSE INTRODUCTION AND SYLLABUS

Just as the name indicates this section provides you an introduction to the course as well as a detailed
syllabus which will give you an idea of the things that you shall during the course.

LEARNING COURSE

NEW FORUM this enables you to create forum topics regarding the lessons within the course. The news
forum serves as a medium of communication with your mentors and fellow students.

LESSONS the subject into multiple chapters each with lessons that tackle various topics under your
course. Click on the lessons button below the chapter title to access your lectures.

MY VIRTUAL LIBRARY this link redirect you to a virtual library provided by Gale Cengage learning. The
password is “discover”. You can use this to research for additional resources on a variety of topics.

PROGRESS BAR is found at the top of your sidebar upon access the course. This serve as a guide for you
to track how much of the activities exams and modules you have finished. The checkboxes will be
automatically ticked off once you have accomplished the conditions directly below updating the
progress bar.

Clicking lessons will show you a page where all of the learning materials for that lesson are posted.
Course materials come in a variety of forms. They can be presented in video lectures presentation
(slides) or course modules. Simply click on the provided button to view any of the materials.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON COURSE CONTENTS

- Material are NOT AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD however students using mobile devices such as
IOS and android can use the AMAUOEd application to download the materials inside the
application to download the materials inside the LMS but these are strictly for offline viewing
only.

ENABLE VIDEO LECTURES There are some course materials which will require access to Lynda.com one
of our learning partners. Simply click on the ENABLE VIDEO LECTURES Button below the subject banner
beside the puzzle piece icon. It will redirect you to Lynda.com as a member. Keep in mind that this is a
onetime activation only and it automatically logs out after you finish the lesson. Just click on the same
button again in order to access the video lectures.
ON ACCESS TO EBOOKS
Mcgraw Hill Education has provide interactive ebooks for Math subjects such as calculus and trigometry.
To gain access to the ebooks use “post a student concerns” and choose “Technical concerns” in the
subject. Under technical concerns pick “Can’t access Ebook”. Please wait for reply within 24hrs or less.
You may also contact our technical support team through; techsupport@amauonline.com with “<name
of course>Ebook Access” as the subject.

TAKING ASSESSMENTS ( SHORT QUIZZES, LONG QUIZES AND FINAL EXAM)


You are required to accomplish the assessment provided after the lessons. Thia will test how well you
have understood the course.
Quizzes are taken once you have gone through all of the materials for the lessons. To start you ned to
click on the quiz that you will take just below the lesson.

Students are given a certain number of attempts to take quiz which will depend on the course you are
taking. The default number of takes is one. The number of itmes that needed to be answered varies as
well with minimum of 5 items and as many 30 items.

Once you finishe answering the items you must click submitall and finish attempt. The quizzes are time
bounded and the limit depends on the type of quiz and items. On quizzes in adaptive mode the answers
to the questions will be shown and will serve as your review for the final exam.

The final exam has the same arrangement as the quizzes except that the average time limit for taking it
will be 2 hours and the students will be given only one attempt. An extra attempt would be available but
only when needed.

SUBMITTING ACTIVITIES AND ASSIGNMENTS

Aside from quizzes and exams students are also required to submit assigments and activities
Clicking the link will take you to the assigments activity page where you can view the instructions as well
as the submission status of the assignment once you have finished your assignment you may click on the
add submission button.

You may submit yourfuke in document on PDF form and it should be strictly less than 1MB in size. Once
you have submitted your assignment tozzz file submissions, click on save changes and wait for the
instructor to grade your work. Do not forget to review your submission status to make sure that you
have uploaded the right file. If the file exceeds 1MB submit your assignment to
mentor.inquiry@amauonline.com and submit a document in the activity page stating that you have sent
the file through the said email so the instructor can grade your activity.

GRADES
Checking your grade may be for each subject. Go to your subject and just click on the “GRADES
BUTTON” on the left side bar under administration. It will open page where you can view all graded
assessments in your courses as well as their corresponding contribution to your final grade.

COURSE EVALUATION
Before finishing the course you are required to finish the course evaluation and course mentor
evaluation (optional) at the end of the subject after the final exam. Your feedbacks matter to us and will
help us in further improving our services.
