I. Objectives

At the end of the lesson, pupils would be able to:

A. Identify Preposition and Prepositional Phrases using in, on and under,
B. Write Preposition and Prepositional Phrase in, on and under in a sentence.
C. Appreciate illustrating sentences.

II. Subject Matter

A. Topic:
Preposition and Prepositional Phrases in, on and under.
B. Reference: English III Language Textbook
C. Materials: laptop, projector,
D. Values: “Working harmoniously and cooperatively as a group”

III. Procedure

A. Introduction/Preliminary Activities
1. Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance
4. Review
-Lesson last meeting

B. Motivation

A. Look around the classroom then the teacher will ask these questions:

- Where is the Book ?(on the Table)

- Where are your bags? (under the chair)
- Where are your books? (in the bag)
 B. The teacher Show pictures of an object in, on and under the table.

Questions:

1. What do you see in the pictures?

2. Where is the book, cake,ball?

The teacher will play a video about prepositions

C. Lesson Proper

1. Activity :

The teacher will group the class into 4. Each group will be given 3 sentences with
prepositions on,in and under. Afterwards each group will act/demonstrate/role-play what is
stated in each sentence which will be read by the other groups one by one.
Example:
A. She put the vase on the desk.
B. Gino found the cat under the bed.
C. Liza hide the ball in the box.

2.Application:

The teacher will ask the students to stand up. The teacher will state a command using
prepositional phrases and the students will do or follow what the teacher says:

A .Please put your pencils under your chair.

B. Keep your pencils in your bag.
C. Place your pencils on the desk/arm rest.

3. Summary:
What have you found out class about prepositions?
Can preposition change the meaning of the sentence?
Can it change the position of an object based on what you did with your pencils on our
activity?
4. Abstraction

The teacher will lead the students to generalize.

A preposition is a word that connects a noun or a pronoun to another word in the

sentence, and a prepositional phrase is made up of a preposition and a noun all the
words in between.

D. Evaluation

Group work: (4 groups will switch members at this time.)

1. Use the following prepositional phrases in a sentence.

A. on the desk
B. in the cabinet
C. under the chair

2. Individual task:

Encircle the preposition and underline the prepositional phrase in each sentence.

A. Write sentence using in, on and under.

E. Assignment
1. Look around your house. Write 5 sentences showing the different objects by using in, on
and under.
2. Study and practice the prepositions beside,behind,and in front of.
