POSSIBLE WRITINGS FOR THIRD TERM (UNITS 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9)

The writings for the exams are always related to the vocabulary and grammar given in the
units, so, for this term, there are several possibilities, but not the only ones:

Unit 4: Write about a typical weekend, a typical day of the week, a typical day in summer, etc.

Unit 5: writings related to food and drink, lifestyle adjectives and likes and dislikes, for
example:

1. Write about your favourite meal (for example: Christmas meal, my birthday´s meal, etc.)

2. Write about your favourite food or dish (for example: Porto Novo´s potato omelette, my
mother´s paella, my grandfather´s smoked jerk chicken, etc.)

3. Things you like, dislike, hate, enjoy, love... (Activities, books, TV series, films, exhibitions,
parties, days, people...)

4. Express how you feel in certain situations using lifestyle adjectives (page 58, Student´s book:
busy, tired, lucky, stressed...)

Unit 6: writings related to sports, games, modal verbs, adverbs of manner and games verbs,
for example:

1. Describe a sport or your favourite sport. Write about its history, its rules, its
equipment and something curious about it. (Use can/can´t/have to / don´t have to /
adverbs of manner / games verbs...)
2. Describe a video game. (Use can/can´t/have to / don´t have to / adverbs of manner /
games verbs...)
3. Write a short article about a sports person you admire from your country, or from
another country.(Writing Plan page 72, Student´s Book)

Units 7/8: writings related to past events, past time expressions, times of life, personality
adjectives, past simple, for example:

1. Write about a person next to you (a relative, a friend ...)or a famous one. Talk about
his/ her different times of life narrating his/her life. (Use Past Simple, time
expressions, personality adjectives)
2. Describe a funny/interesting/ sad/ strange /...story or event in the past. (Use Past
Simple, time expressions, personality adjectives...)
3. Write a narrative about what you did when you were on holiday, last week, last
weekend, last summer, etc.(Use time expressions, Past Simple...)
4. Write about a person you admire: Describe his/her appearance and personality, say
what he /she enjoys doing, say why you admire him/ her.

Unit 9: writings related to shops and shopping, adjectives and adverbs, comparative and
superlative forms, for example:

1. You´re on holiday in your favourite place in your country or abroad. Write an e-mail to
a friend about it. (Use adjectives, adverbs, comparative and superlative, add details:
how, when, where, why, who; your opinion: I think,...
2. Write an advert for a new shop. ( Writing Plan page 106)
