Declaration
Before we begin the pada puja and Paramashiva puja today, we request all the pada puja participants and everybody else who is
participating in this puja physically here and online, to declare the following with integrity and authenticity. If you are agree to this,
please say “Yes” loudly:
1) I authentically cognize which is internally process, understand and declare the truth that cosmic energy exists.
2) I authentically cognize which is internally process, understand and declare the truth that His Divine Holiness Swamiji,
Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva, and Nithyanandeshwari Parashakti, Guru Paduka and Atma Linga are the Chinmaya Vigrahas –
embodiment and representation of that very cosmic energy.
3) I authentically cognize which is internally process, understand and declare the truth that whatever I offer during the Pada Puja to
His Divine Holiness Swamiji and the Paramashiva puja to Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva and Nithyanandeshwari Parashakti will
reach the cosmic source of energy directly.
4) I authentically cognize which is internally process, understand and declare the truth of – “Sohamasmi” – that even when I worship I am Him.
Let us now enter the Pratyaksha Pada Puja, followed by the ParamaShiva Puja. Now please be seated in a meditative space of
gratitude and deep restful awareness in your Ananda Gandha.
In the Pratyaksha Pada Puja, the Sanskrit Mantras we are going to chant will directly take us to a very deep meditative state which
will immensely help us connect to His Divine Holiness Swamiji’s energy.

Now please take some flowers in your hands and close your eyes and offer the flowers at His Divine Holiness Swamiji’s feet/ Paduka

Achamana is the ritualistic cleansing of the mouth.
This ācamana is called tattvācamanam because the mantras used for the ācamana are the three tattvas(principles) -
Ātmatattva(The principle of the soul- The individual Consciousness), Vidyatattva(The principle of the science of transcending from
identifying ourselves as Jiva to Paramashiva), Shivatattva(The principle of Paramashiva - The Cosmic Consciousness)
With the tips of the right hand index, middle and ring fingers,
touch above the
1) upper lips and
2) below the lower lips
With the tips of the right hand index finger and thumb joined
together touch
1) the right nostril
2) left nostril
With the tips of the right hand ring finger and thumb joined
together, touch the
1)right eye
2)left eye
3)Right ear
4)Left ear
With the base of the right hand thumb and little finger, touch the
1) navel,
2) Right chest
3) left chest

Please take the akshata(turmeric mixed rice) in you right hand. Clench your hands as shown in the picture and tap the sides of your
forehead (on the temples) five times visualizing that the nectar in the Sushumna nadi reaching the Mahaganapathy in the
Mooladhara chakra and the nectar oozing through the head and drenching your hands along with the chanting the following mantra

Continue to keep the akshata in your right hand. Now open only the little finger, ring finger and the thumb (as shown in picture).
During the Pranayama use the thumb to close the right nostril and the ring and little finger to close the left nostril.
1) Closing the right nostril inhale slowly through the left nostril
2) Once you have inhaled fully, close both the nostrils and hold the breath inside as long as possible
3) Exhale through the right nostril alone very slowly
During this inhalation, retention and exhalation, chant the following mantras three times internally. (The following are called the Samhita
mantras; the first five known as Pancha Brahma mantras and the next six mantras are called Shadanga mantras or Anga mantras)

Now keeping the akshata in your left palm and close it with your right palm and keep both the hands on the right thigh, chant the
following mantra and then drop the akshata down in the North at the end of the mantra.

Now please take the Gandha Tailam – the scented oil in your hands and offer at His Divine Holiness Swamiji's feet / paduka along

and please ring the bell as you do so.
Now please take the offering of clothes in your hands and offer it to His Divine Holiness Swamiji's feet / paduka along with the

Get into the space of Paramashivoham and do the ParamaShiva Puja.

Sakalikaranam is the process of manifesting Paramashiva in our body. It consists of Kara Nyasa and Anga Nyasa.

⚫ Mix some sandalwood paste, a flower and some akshata in the water in the Panchapatram.
⚫ Close the mouth of the panchapatram with the center of your right hand and chant “OM” ` seven times .
⚫ Snap your index finger and thumb in all the eight directions around your head starting in the East through NorthEast and
then below and above the Panchapatram chanting the mantra once: ` h> Aôay )qœ om haù asträya phaö [ This is
called Samrakshanam]
⚫ Keeping your right hand in the Avakunthana mudra (as in the pic) rotate the index finger above the Panchapatram once in
the clockwise direction chanting the mantra:` hE< kvcay ÷< om haià kavacäya huà [ Thi is called Avakunthanam]
⚫ Show the Dhenu mudra ( as in the pic) over the Panchapatram chanting the mantra : ` ha< izvay vaE;qœ om häà
çiväya vauñaö and visualize the water in the Panchapatram as nectar [ This is called Amriteekaranam]
The water in this Panchapatram is now called Samanyarghya Tirtham. And the Panchapatram from now called Samanyarghya
patram.

Now please take some flowers in your hands and keep your hands in Anjali mudra (ie hands in prayer position and flower in between
the palms) and chant the following mantra:

Now please close your eyes and meditate on Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva & Nithyanandeshwari Parashakti and exhale into the
flower in the Anjali mudra visualizing the visualized deity from our heart entering into the Anjali.
Now offer the flower on the Linga chanting the following mantra:
Now please close your eyes and visualize Nithyanandeshwara Paramashiva & Nithyanandeshwari Parashakti in the form of a
glittering star twelve inches above your sahasrara and visualize the star entering into your heart through Sahasrara and the star
comes out through your exhaling breath and merges into the flower in Anjali mudra and offer the flowers on the Atamalinga and
visualize the star landing onto the Atmalinga through the flowers .
Now please chant the following mantra and perform the mudras. “”

The next offering is Bilva patram – the offering of bilva leaf. Now please take the Bilva leaf smeared with sandalwood paste in your
hands and offer it the Linga along with the mantra.

The next offering is dhūpa – the offering of incense for Paramashiva and Parashakti.
Offer a flower on the bell chanting the following mantra and start ringing the bell with your left hand (Keep ringing the bell until
Aratrikam is finished):
Now please take the lit incense sticks in your hands and slowly wave it clockwise in front of the Linga. Please chant the mantra and
please ring the bell as you do so.

Now please take the deepam in your hands and slowly wave it clockwise in front of the Linga. Please chant the mantra and please
ring the bell as you do so.

The next offering is naivedyam – the offering of food for Paramashiva and Parashakti.
Now sprinkle Samanyarghya tirtham on the naivedyam chanting: ` h> Aôay )qœ,

Now take a uddharini of water and hover it clockwise over the Naivedyam. Please chant the mantra and ring the bell as you do so.

The next offering is tāmbūlam – the offering of betel leaves with arecanut for Paramashiva and Parashakti.

Take a uddharini of Samanyarghya tirtham and hover clockwise over the tambulam and offer the tirtham in front of the Shiva Linga
chanting the mantra

Now take the karpura arati and wave towards the Shiva Linga in clockwise motion chanting the mantra:

Stop ringing the bell, keep the karpur arati plate down. Now take a flower and hover it clockwise over the karpura arati and
offer it on the Shiva Linga.
Now take a uddharini of Samanyarghyam and show it to the middle of the Shiva Linga and offer in the achamana patram
which is in the middle chanting the mantra:
. pu:paÃil>.|| puñpäïjaliù ||
The next offering is puṣpānjaliḥ – the offering of fragrant flowers for Paramashiva & Parashakti.
Now please take some druva grass, flowers and some akshata in your folded hands (in the Anjali mudra) and offer it on the top
Linga at the end of the mantra.

silently internally without moving the lips and the tongue at least for 11 times. Do the japa neither too slowly nor fast. Do the
japa keeping your full awareness in the sound of the mantra with integrity and authenticity.
Take a flower, durva and akshata in your right hand, chant :

Please perform the tattvācamanam as described before in the beginning of Guru Puja.
