Starting with the AMS Device Manager V12.0 release, AMS Device Manager is fully supported with the supported DeltaV
Virtual Studio using Microsoft Hyper-V. If the AMS Device Manager system is not co-deployed with DeltaV utilizing the
DeltaV Virtual Studio, it will only be supported when using a licensed version of VMware Workstation. No other virtual
software applications will be supported. For more information, refer to KBA NK-1300-0268: AMS Device Manager Support
in Virtual Environments.

2.3 Machinery Health Manager (MHM)

As a rule, none of the MHM components should be installed on the DeltaV network. However, for this integration
challenge, it has been tested and approved to install one MHM data server on the DeltaV network, which is referred to as
the “Data Import Server”. All other MHM components must be installed on a separate network such as the Plant network.
The preferred architecture is for the Data Import Server to be installed on either an Application Station or a Maintenance
Station. However, if there are no Application or Maintenance Stations on the DeltaV network, then it is also permissible to
install this module directly on the ProPlus. For more details, refer to KBA NK-1300-0217: DeltaV Integration of Spectrum
and Waveform from the CSI 9420 Vibration Transmitter into AMS Machinery Health Manager.

2.4 Microsoft Office

You can use the Microsoft Office family of products and DeltaV Operate on the same computer. However, to ensure VBA
works correctly, install Microsoft Office products before installing DeltaV Operate.
Use the following table as a guide for installing and removing either product:

If you have… And you want to… Then…

Installed Microsoft Office Install additional Microsoft Remove the DeltaV system, install
products Office products Microsoft Office products, and then re-
install the DeltaV system.

Installed Microsoft Office Remove Microsoft Office Remove the DeltaV system, remove
products products Microsoft Office products, and then re-
install the DeltaV System.

Virtualized machines must be installed on “fresh OS” VM Template prior to installing DeltaV.

2.5 OPC Mirror, OPC Pager, OPC Remote
When installed on a non-DeltaV workstation, the OPC Mirror, Pager, and Remote can be installed on the following
Operating Systems: Windows 7 SP1 32-bit, Windows Server 2008 SP2 32-bit, Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, and Windows
Server 2008 R2 SP1 64-bit.

2.6 Scheduled System Maintenance (SSM)

SSM will run only on the ProPLUS node.

2.7 Syncade
Compatibility information can also be found in the latest version of the SYN-4-SysReq document (see DeltaV Release
notes v12.3.1 and later)

2.8 VMWare
When using VMware player with virtual EIOC VMs, there is no easy way to edit the assignment of virtual NICs to real
NICs in order to allow the VMs to talk on the ACN network and to talk on the I/O Controller network. Ref: TFS225615.

2.9 Workstation Update Service (WSUS)

Microsoft software update deployment in managed mode using WSUS is tested in DeltaV v9.3.1, v10.3.1, v11.3.x,
v12.3.1, and v13.3.1. Customers may contact the Emerson Performance Services Team via their local Emerson office for
consultation services.
