MLA Formatting

MLA is short for Modern Language Association. The Modern Language Association has

developed a simple and specific format in order to make papers easier to read and grade. The

design of MLA format was created with simplicity in mind, allowing both students and

professors alike to focus their attention solely on what has been written within an essay, with

minimal distraction from things like font style, size, bolded or italicized headings, or obnoxious

spacings.

The Modern Language Association has made it easy to write, read, and grade papers with

a simplistic and minimalist format aesthetic, allowing the reader and writer to become fully

immersed in the material presented within the essay without floundering through various design

distractions that often detract from the main point of the essay. As someone who tends to become

caught up in the creative aspects and aesthetics of formatting papers, often making titles bold and

adding extra spaces between paragraphs, MLA format has made it easy for me to write a strong

and detailed paper with effortlessness and minimalist stylings. Thanks, MLA format!
