Following a fire that destroyed three neighborhood units (RTs) in Kampung Bandan, 1.
Pademangan, North Jakarta, on Saturday, Governor Anies Baswedan said the city administration
will build a Rusun (low-cost apartment) for the affected residents.

The land where the fire that burned down houses of more than 400 families and displaced over
3,000 was owned by state-owned railway operator PT KAI.

When visiting the location on Sunday, Anies said the administration would invite KAI to talk
about follow-up measures, including the temporary relocation of the victims to a wide plot of
land owned by the firm.

Anies claimed after a meeting with KAI on Tuesday that the firm had approved the
administration's proposal to discuss the potential development of a Rusun. The Rusun was
deemed a long-term measure in handling the impact of the incident.
“The long-term measures are regarding resettlement. The land [where the fire occurred] is a 1-
hectare plot of land owned by PT KAI. [The administration and KAI] have agreed there will be a
housing [complex] built there,” Anies told a press briefing at City Hall on Tuesday.
“The housing may be used by residents affected [by the fire],” he added.
“The [land] size is 1.08 ha. For a long-term solution, we will build a Rusun. But the Rusun will
be built on the location [where their houses used to be],” he said.
Anies said the administration would further discuss the matter with KAI.
The governor also claimed that the idea would benefit KAI as the land utilization was clear as
well as who would build and use the apartment.
Anies added that the short-term solution was to make sure the basic needs of the affected
residents were met, such as shelter, health services, food provision and school materials for
students.
The shelter will be made available during the construction of the apartment.
“While the construction is ongoing temporary shelters will be provided. The [Jakarta] Housing
and Settlement Agency will prepare the shelter,” he said.

City-owned developer company Sarana Jaya has been assigned to communicate with KAI as it
was in charge of the apartment’s construction.

only just begun and the firm had yet to reveal any cooperation plan.
“It is an agreement that needs further discussion. We have been assigned to communicate with
KAI,” he said.

KAI’s corporate deputy director of nonrailway assets Zuhril Alim said the meeting with the
administration on Tuesday morning focused on the handling of the affected residents.
“Technical matters are being discussed internally by the administration,” he said.
He declined to comment further or give confirmation on KAI's approval regarding the
construction of the Rusun.

Speaking on a different occasion, Jakarta Housing and Settlement Agency head Kelik Indriyanto
said the Jakarta Spatial Planning Agency was assessing the land where the fire occurred. The
assessment is expected to be completed two days after the data is collected.
“We will build the temporary shelter,” he said, citing the governor's argument that the current
shelter was inadequate for living in.
Kelik said the administration would cooperate with KAI, however, the model still needed to be
discussed.

North Jakarta Mayor Syamsudin Lologau said the temporary shelter would accommodate 230
families comprising 1,012 people who are listed as Jakarta residents.
Having lost their homes in the fire, Kampung Bandan residents expressed hope that the
administration would build semipermanent housing for them.

I could not stop crying since the early minutes when I was watching Taare Zameen Par (Little
Star on Earth). I did not know why I cried bloody. It was unusual for me. When I am watching
movie, I never cried even how sad that movie is everyone thinking about. I could not. My heart
never made it. It doesn't mean I am not a good spectator, I am sure I am really good spectator.

Perhaps when I was watching this movie, I was in a bad mood or something like I got sensitive
inside. I think that is not so important, the most important is, that Taare Zameen Par got success
to dried out my tears from beginning to the end of Ishaan's story about how he tried to force
Dyslexia.

According to Wikipedia, Dyslexia is characterized by difficulty with learning to read fluently and
with accurate comprehension despite normal intelligence. This includes difficulty with
phonological awareness, phonological decoding, processing speed, orthographic coding,
auditory short-term memory, language skills or verbal comprehension, and/or rapid naming.

Ishaan Nandkishore Awasthi is nine years old student with Dyslexia. He is on third year of
elementary school. He failed twice to get the next level of his study. He is not able to read well,
he is also not able to write as well. Because of that problems, his teachers were always getting
angry and desperate how to teach him. His teachers are not able to identified the problem that
Ishaan facing alone.

Ishaan's parents also don't know what the problem exactly. They just said that Ishaan is a lazy
boy, stupid, and badly idiot. Then Ishaan's parent, Mr. and Mrs. Awasthi decided to send his
second son to a boarding school that is located very far away from their home. Ishaan was
crying and trying to refuse his parent's plan. But it did not work. Finally he was sent to boarding
school and aparted with his parent and old brother.

In his new school, there was no any progress in his study. He still find hardness how to read, as
well how to write in a good way. The teachers treated him badly and did not understand about
Ishaan's problem. Unfortunately, Ishaan got desperate to study at school. In his mind, the letters
are always change like a scorpion n going to kill him. Ishaan is going to die slowly.

In fact and no one realize, Ishaan has a great skill in painting. Ram Shankar Nikhumb, teacher of
art in Ishaan's school find that skill of painting. Ram is a very wise teacher. He tried to find
Ishaan's problem and try to solve it. Ram knew that Ishaan has a dyslexia problem. In Ram's
mind, Ishaan is not a stupid boy as everyone thinking about. But just need patient to help him
how to deal with this problem.

Ram tries to taking back Ishaan's confident. In a day, when came into the class, Ram told the
students about very important person in this world as Albert Einstein, Pablo Picasso, Agatha
Christie, Walt Disney, Neil Diamond, Leonardo Da Vinci and Bollywood's actor, Abishek Bachan.
Those important persons also had a dyslexia problem in their life. But now, world noted them as
very important person. "Why I told this to you?," Ram asking to his students. He answered that
they are like a diamond who changed the world. "They see the world with difference way. Their
ideas are unique and no one understand with it. They are going to force. But now they are the
winner and world are so surprising," Ram enlightening. Ram also had a dyslexia problem years
ago.

The story that Ram told about in the front of class touched Ishaan's heart and bring back his confident.
Then Ram teached him how to read and write with compassion and patient. The days later, Ishaan is able
to read and understand how to write well. About his skill in painting, he won a painting competition in
his school.

The story of this movie is so touchable. This movie bring an enlightment how to teach children
in an exact way. Especially for dyslexia. This movie bring out the new point of view for us how to
deal with dyslexia. The main point is, this movie is getting us how to teach with compassion. It is
so important to watch, not just for parents, but also for all teacher in this world. Happy

Paragraph 4: Background events

Ishaan Nandkishore Awasthi is nine years old


student with Dyslexia. He is on third year of
elementary school. He failed twice to get the
next level of his study. He is not able to read
well, he is also not able to write as well.
Because of that problems, his teachers were
always getting angry and desperate how to
teach him. His teachers are not able to
identified the problem that Ishaan facing
alone.

In the fourth paragraph the reviewer told


about the characteristics of the main actor
named Ishaan. Who has Dyslexia, Ishaan
can’t write and read so he always failed in
every exam, his teacher angry and desperate
to teach him

Paragraph 5 :

Ishaan's parents also don't know what the


problem exactly. They just said that Ishaan is
a lazy boy, stupid, and badly idiot. Then
Ishaan's parent, Mr. and Mrs. Awasthi
decided to send his second son to a boarding
school that is located very far away from
their home. Ishaan was crying and trying to
refuse his parent's plan. But it did not work.
Finally he was sent to boarding school and
aparted with his parent and old brother.

In this paragraph the reviewer told about


Ishaan’s Parent supposed that Ishaan a stupid
and badly idiot so they send Ishaan to
boarding school and wished he can study well
there.

The sixth paragraph


In fact and no one realize, Ishaan has a great
skill in painting. Ram Shankar Nikhumb,
teacher of art in Ishaan's school find that skill
of painting. Ram is a very wise teacher. He
tried to find Ishaan's problem and try to solve
it. Ram knew that Ishaan has a dyslexia
problem. In Ram's mind, Ishaan is not a
stupid boy as everyone thinking about. But
just need patient to help him how to deal
with this problem

In this paragraph the reviewer stated that


Ishaan meet a great teacher who not like the
other teacher, his name is Mr Ram Shankar
nikumb. He is patient. Ram helps Ishaan to
solve his problem by finding the superiority
of Ishaan.

Ram tries to taking back Ishaan's confident.
In a day, when came into the class, Ram told
the students about very important person in
this world as Albert Einstein, Pablo Picasso,
Agatha Christie, Walt Disney, Neil Diamond,
Leonardo Da Vinci and Bollywood's actor,
Abishek Bachan.
Those important persons also had a dyslexia
problem in their life. But now, world noted
them as very important person. "Why I told
this to you?," Ram asking to his students. He
answered that they are like a diamond who
changed the world. "They see the world with
difference way. Their ideas are unique and no
one understand with it. They are going to
force. But now they are the winner and world
are so surprising," Ram enlightening. Ram
also had a dyslexia problem years ago.

In this paragraph the reviewer told the reader


how the Ishaan’s teacher motivate him to
appear his confident by telling the some

The story that Ram told about in the front of


class touched Ishaan's heart and bring back
his confident. Then Ram teached him how to
read and write with compassion and patient.
The days later, Ishaan is able to read and
understand how to write well. About his skill
in painting, he won a painting competition in
his school.

movie bring an enlightment how to teach
children in an exact way. Especially for
dyslexia. This movie bring out the new point
of view for us how to deal with dyslexia. The
main point is, this movie is getting us how to
teach with compassion. It is so important to
watch, not just for parents, but also for all
teacher in this world. Happy watching !!!

Summary
I found the news reports on media online, namely the Jakarta post and their purpose of
the news is to inform readers of what are Governor do to face the fire disaster in Kampung
Bandan. The social function of news report is to inform the target readers, listeners, and
viewers about events namely the resident of Kampung Bandan, the related officials and public
in general. In order to have a good news report, we should use telegraphic information about
story captured in headline, direct and indirect sentences to report the events according to
witness(es) and the source person and use past tenses. Using prepositional phrases to state the
circumstances briefly will help the readers understand the news. Using clause will make our
sentence in news report will be more attractive.
As a text, the caption is used to explain or elaborate on published photograph, by
describing the photograph, giving context, or relating it to the article. This can make the
article more interesting to read. A good caption must be regarded by the process of the event
briefly, the participants in the process and to make it easy understood we should put the
circumstances of the process: mostly of place and time, providing context to the picture by
using complete sentences and use of Simple Present Tense in the main sentence, Simple Past
Tense in the following sentences. I took caption from the Jakarta post media online. It told
about the incident of sink of a ferry in Riau Island.
Advertisement is a short interesting functional text. The Social Function of this text is
to persuade listeners or readers to buy or to use the product or services being advertised or to
convince products, services, or events to the public. A good ad vertisement should be clear in a
purpose which built the advertisement, product names and the target readers. Besides,
Coinage will make advertisement more interesting because coined words make lively and eye-
catching. Comparative and Superlative Adjective will also make advertisement more
convincing, while compound word will gives the readers a sense of closeness. To have a good
command so the reader will be interested, we have to use Imperative Sentence and Disjunctive
Clause. In this I took advertisement from media online, it about selling of accessories, using
coinage “makes you feel who you are” and attract the target reader by giving discount 15 %
off for third buying.
The way to express our opinion of film, novel, and other product is to review it.
Review is an appreciation or an evaluation of a publication, such as a movie, book, novel, etc.
which contains the orientation/introduction paragraph as its background to tell the products.
Concluding statement, opinion, recommendation should be the next paragraph which called
Evaluation by telling the chronology or characteristic of the product, film, music, or novel. To
state our opinion, it must be at the last paragraph because it could be the conclusion for our
opinion of the product, film, movie, novel or music. In this case I took an Indian movie
entitled Taree Zameen Par. It tells about a children with dyslexia firstly people thought he was
an idiot, but after he met with a great teacher Mr Ram Shankar Nikumb who motivated him
and taught him patiently so finally he able to read and write even he won a painting
competition. The tense mostly used is past tense because the reviewer retell the story in her
reviewing.
