 Check the weight of an item before lifting it. Most products show the weight of the item on the
packaging.
Employees are to be supplied with the appropriate clothing which does not interfere with their
manual handling tasks including the use of mechanical aids.

PPE Required  Safety shoes / boots & high vis vests and gloves if applicable.

General Recommendations  All staff are to be provided with manual handling training prior to commencing on the contract.
This training is specific to the job role.

Responsibility for Control  Sierra management for overall work procedures and work practices.
 Responsibility of all employees and contractors.
