I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:


Promote the use of health resources and facilities in the school and in the community.
(H6PH-Igh-25)

II. SUBJECT MATTER

Topic: Promoting the use of health services in the school and in the community (Health)
Reference: MAPEH Teacher’s Guide pg. 17-18
Materials: Pictures and video clip
Value Focus: Value the importance of health services and facilities.

III. INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES

A. Preliminary Activities

1. Drill

The teacher will have a spelling.

3. Hyperopia 8. Opthalmologist
4. Myopia 9. Nephrologist
5. Xerophthalmia 10. Pediatrician

2. Review

Conducting a review about the health services in the school and in the community.
 What are the health services in the school?
 What are the health services in the community?
 Why should we avail all these health services?

3. Motivation

The teacher will present pictures on different ways depicting on health awareness and
news on radio or video clip regarding on health issues and awareness.

B. Developmental Activities

1. Presentation

Ask:
a. Do the picture capture or conveys health awareness?
b. Why is it important that health awareness will be in our reach?
c. What will happen if we lack knowledge on the dissemination of the different health
resources?
d. Do we have this in our school and in our community?
e. How do they promote it?

Health promotion is the process of enabling people to increase control over and to
improve their health. It aims it help an individual or group to reach a state of complete
physical, mental, and social well-being.
Some ways to promote the use of health resources:
a. Advertisement
b. Making a slogan
c. Poster
d. Use of social media, television and radio ads
e. Exploring models

2. Activity

The class will be group into 4. They will have a role play on how they will promote
the health resources/services in the school or in the community. They will choose what
ways they will use to promote health resources from the listed above.

3. Generalization

To lead generalization by asking:


 Why we need to promote the use of health resources and facilities in the school and
in the community?
 How are we going to do this?

IV. ASSESSMENT

Make and create a poster that shows promotion or awareness on the use of health resources
and facilities in the school and in the community.

V. ASSIGNMENT

Find atleast 2 pictures in the newspaper or in the magazine showing health awareness.
