Before Applying Update 2

Planner Update: The latest planner update is required. Please install the most recent E9.2 Planner Update by downloading and installing Software
Update JN13360 or any Software Update that has superseded it is installed. The logic included in this Software Update is a prerequisite in order to
ensure that Update 2 installs successfully. (A Planner Update is a specially formatted Software Update that installs fixes and enhancements
directly to the Planner path code as if you were applying an update package to a workstation.) The planner Software Update should be applied to
your environments to make sure the code delivered with the planner Software Update is updated throughout the system and not just in the
PLANNER environment.

Tools Update: Applications 9.2 Update 2 does not require Tools 9.2.2 however there are several new capabilities that have been delivered since
Tools 9.2 base was release in 2015. While some of the components for these enhancements are delivered in the Applications Update 2, these
capabilities cannot be leveraged until the required Tools update is installed. A complete list is available on the Product Catalog.

Examples of functionality not available with base Tools Release 9.2 include:

Feature Tools Release

UX One 9.2.1
Production Execution Simplification 9.2.2
JDE/MCS Pass-through Solution 9.2.0.5
Form Personalization 9.2.1
EnterpriseOne Search 9.2.1.2
Object Tracking 9.2.1.2
Notifications 9.2.2

Applying Update 2

NOTE: It is recommended that clients do not select the backup option from within the Software Updates application for Update 2 when applying
it to any environment. A full system backup of the EnterpriseOne database and the deployment server directory structure is recommended prior to
installing Update 2.

Follow the EnterpriseOne Tools Software Update Guide for applying this update. This guide can be found on the Update Center under the
Electronic Software Update category.

Update 2 includes workbenches for the following:

• Table Conversions
• Control Table Merges
• Specification Merge
• Package Build

After Applying Update 2

Review all other instructions included in this document. The Special Instructions are sorted by module. You must follow all of the Special
Instructions listed in the Update 2 Special Instructions pdf document unless they pertain to functionality you are not using. Perform all instructions
that are listed as Pre-Package Build prior to building the package.

Assume all Special Instructions should be performed on a workstation or Web Development Client after the full package is completed unless
mentioned otherwise.

3
 The Visual Compare for UDC Descriptions and Glossary Tool must be used to merge new UDC and Data Dictionary Glossary text. Please
see Chapter 7 of the Software Update Guide for instructions. For all of these changes follow below:

Instructions:
1. Run P96472 from fast path and follow the instructions given in the Software Update Guide.

Note: - Link to Software Update Guide:-

https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E53430_01/EOTSU/toc.htm

 User Defined Objects (UDOs)

o The UDO bundle for Update 2 is delivered as a configuration and can be deployed via the Change Assistant. Please reference the
Update Guide for instructions on how to use Change Assistant to deploy a package.

Note: Section 4.8 in this guide is not applicable in this case. That functionality deploys UDOs using a different format from what is provided with
Update 2.

o Once completed, the UDOs will be in the system at a “Pending Promote” status. This means they are not yet available to users, they
first need to be shared.
o To share them, we recommend using application P98220U – Work with User Defined Objects.

Query on:
 User Defined Object Status = “Pending Promote”
 Date Modified = Today’s date, or whichever date you imported the UDO package in step one.

o If you click Find and go to end at this point, it will result in 2300+ UDOs that were just imported. However we do not recommend
trying to share all the UDOs at the same time. This is due to potential timing out issues that could occur with processing large
volumes via an interactive application. If you want to share all of them, we recommend doing that in smaller groupings.
o Another option would be to apply additional filters to only select certain UDO types, or UDOs for certain product areas your company
uses.
o When you have a result set you wish to share, select all, and click the Row Exit “Approve/Share”.

4
 UX One You must be at Tools Release 9.2.1 or greater. The UDO update is optional, however it will overlay any UDOs delivered in Base 9.2
or UDOs applied to your environment by a previous enhancement since 9.2 was released. There are two (2) Data Packs available for the UX
One module delivered with the update. They enable you to deploy data to your environment to demo and learn the UX One module. These
Data Packs must not be deployed to any production environments. The data contained in these Data Packs are intended solely for demo or
educational purposes only. All data required for a production environment is delivered with the mastered product.

o The data in these Data Packs can be deployed to a clean 9.2 Standalone client or any standard JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.2
environment.

These Data Packs can be found and downloaded from the

Update Center using the following search parameters -
Type = Configurations
Release = 9.2
Name = DP0119201 (Business Data)
DP0059204 (Security and Roles - Recommended)

Package Build Details

NOTE: Upon taking this software update, it is recommended that you build a full package to incorporate the objects delivered with the update into
your pathcode. Do not use the pre-defined update package that is created by the installation of the update.
