Where and The Feria de las Flores is a
when it is traditional and massive event
celebrated. that lasts 10 days every year
in the city of Medellín. The
Flower Fair takes place in the
month of August. In addition
to the antiquities, this colossal
event gathers thousands of
tourists who visit Medellin in
those days
What people As for the typical costumes,
wear. they are usually worn for
events such as the Feria de
las Flores. The peasants wear
their daily pants in crude
linen, and long-sleeved shirt,
also straw hat "aguadeño".
Some elements, such as the
carriel and the poncho, are
common accessories
throughout the year, which
can be a good souvenir for
the visitor. The carriel is a
small and oval leather bag
with a cap as a closure.
 What people do. This is the main event and the
one that gives the Fair its
name. This parade is carried
out by hundreds of farmers
who, throughout the year,
grow flowers on their farms
and with them build huge and
colorful silletas that weigh up
to 70 kilos.
Why it is a The Feria de las Flores is one
special of the most important festivals
celebration. in Colombia and is a source
of pride for Medellín. During
this event a series of activities
are developed that highlight
the regional traditions and
turn it into a cultural
celebration by experience.
