COLLEGE OF BUSINESS, ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND ACCOUNTANCY

The market comprises of both around low and high earners. Changing trends and
development and consumer behaviour and buying habits. Therefore it is important note
that market size quite large.

Market research

According to the conducted research, its shows that 100 percent of the total 300
respondent buys pork, it also shows that most respondent buys pork for home consumption
rather than business purposes. The study also shows some of them are not satisfied with
existing product due to each quality and availability on times most of them buy early in the
morning.

Competitive Comparison

We got many competitors around the city, namel; Bigboy’s, Monterey, Fresh
Option’s and etc... with regards to the market research, we noticed that some consumer are
not satisfy on operating hours of the given competitors, and they also have problems special
when times of buying, according to our survey a lot of them buys pork early in the morning
and Hogwar Piggery’s competitors start selling around 7:00am to 8:00pm. So in able for us
to cater their needs it would be an opportunity for the Hogward Piggery to introduce its
quality pork and operates early in the morning, further more convenience on buying to
these pork seller is not that good because customers will be having hard time to buy from
them.

 Due to the inconvenience on buying to them therefore if the partners work

towards them, we believe that we can gain competitive advantage over
them.
 Given the fact that they start to operate late in the morning and end late in
the evening, there is a high chance that we can compete with them.

 Put rice straw to the floor to the piggery
 The feeding through is 9 – 10 inches depends on the pig age.
 The length for every division of space in the piggery house is 1.5 square meters for
every pig.
 Use painted iron bars or bamboo for fencing to prevent the pigs from escaping.
 The width of the wallowing pool is 1 meter while the length depends on the size of
the piggery.
