GRADUATE SCHOOL MISSION The GS envisions itself as the lead school in the region for advanced studies in
creating knowledge and technology, and continuously improving professional
competences and practices for sustaining national and global competitiveness.

COURSE DESCRIPTION Thesis Seminar is a workshop which will help students to design and carry out a
research project related to the teaching and learning processes. This project
must integrate research learning theories with a practical application in the
classroom.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES At the end of the course, graduate students shall:

1. Have a detailed discussion of the basic ideas, concepts and principles of


quantitative research;

2. Develop critical thinking skills based on empirical data;

3. Level the understanding of the nature and process of quantitative and


qualitative research, the concept of variables, research framework, research
problem, research hypothesis, basic research design, data gathering procedure,
and questionnaire formulation.

LEARNING EXPECTATIONS: At the end of this term, students should have the opportunity to:

1. Develop a research proposal;


2. Formulate a questionnaire; and

3. Have the research proposal presented for critiquing.
