ABSTRACT
RWS&S- Telangana Drinking Water Supply Project – Administrative Sanction in
respect of segments in Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Khammam,
Warangal and Karimnagar Districts for Providing Drinking Water Supply to
habitations under TDWSP, with an estimated cost of Rs.8395.00 Crores –

ORDER:-

Government have envisaged a Flagship Programme to provide Drinking

Water Supply through Telangana Drinking Water Supply Project which
envisages tap Drinking Water Supply to all the habitations in the State of
Telangana in the manner of time bound in (4) years. As part of this Project
envisages drawl of water from major rivers on the Krishna and Godavari through
appropriate intake structures. The Telangana Drinking Water Supply Project
envisages transmission of water through (26) segments which transmit water
from reservoir to the habitations for enabling tap water supply.
2. In the G.O.1st and 2nd read above, orders were issued engaging the
services of WAPCOS, for vetting of DPRs, Monitoring, Supervision, and Quality
Control of TDWSP works and certain condition imposed therein.
3. In the G.O.3rd read above, orders were issued according Administrative
Sanction for providing Drinking Water Supply under Telangana Drinking Water
Supply Project to habitations in Mahabubnabar, Rangareddy, Nalgonda, Medak,
Nizamabad, Adilabad and Karimnagar Districts with an estimated cost of
Rs.15603.05 Crores (Rupees Fifteen Thousand Six Hundred Three Crores and
Five Lakhs Only).

4. In the reference 4th read above, the Engineer-in-Chief, RWS has

submitted the proposals requesting to accord administrative sanction in respect
of segments in Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Khammam, Karimnagar, Warangal,
Rangareddy Districts for Providing Drinking Water Supply to habitations under
Telangana Drinking Water Supply Project, with an estimated cost of Rs.8395.00
Crores.
5. After careful examination of the proposal of the Engineer-in-Chief, Rural
Water Supply and Sanitation Department, Hyderabad in the reference 4th read
above, Government, hereby accord Administrative Sanction in respect of
segments in Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Rangareddy, Khammam, Warangal and
Karimnagar Districts for providing Drinking Water Supply to habitations under
Telangana Drinking Water Supply Project with an estimated cost of Rs.8395.00
Crores (Rupees Eight Thousand Three Hundred and Ninety Five Crores Only).
The details of works are appended to this order as Annexure.

6. The Engineer-in-Chief, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation, Hyderabad is

requested to make suitable packages with a view to ensure the best
competitions, early completion and execution of the works. Too large a package
may hamper execution in case of disputes. In addition to the above, the
Engineer-in-Chief, Rural Water Supply & Sanitation, Hyderabad to ensure to
follow the guidelines/conditions as given below:

I) The DPRs shall be vetted by WAPCOS as per the G.O issued in

the reference 1st & 2nd read above. The design shall be thoroughly
checked by the Technically Agency right from planning to structural
design to rationalize and bring optimum economy keeping the life and
sustainability of the project as per the parameters mentioned in the
policy document approved by the Govt. and various Indian standards
(BIS) applicable to relevant materials.
II) Availability of assured quantum of water in the sources proposed
for various segments which shall be verified thoroughly before
grounding.
III) Subject to detailed investigation of the sub-strata of the various
structures and pipelines within a time frame before grounding.

IV).To ensure that the provision made for various components are within
the realm of Codal provision, guidelines and relevant G.Os issued
from time to time which are in force.

V).To limit the sanctions to the extent of the consent and financial
proposal by the institutions consulted (namely WACPCOS).

7. This orders issues with the concurrence of the Finance (EBS-VIII)

Department vide their U.O. No.204/EBS.VIII/2015, dt.29.05.2015.
